Abstract

THE PRESENT INVENTION RELATES TO CERAMICS FOR GLASS MOLDING, COMPRISING SILICON CARBIDE AND CARBON, WHEREIN SAID CARBON IS CONTAINED IN AN AMOUNT OF FROM 6 TO 50 PARTS BY WEIGHT, BASED ON 100 PARTS BY WEIGHT OF SILICON CARBIDE; A GLASS MOLD MADE OF THE CERAMICS AS DEFINED ABOVE; AND A PROCESS FOR PRODUCING A GLASS MOLD COMPRISING USING THE CERAMICS AS DEFINED ABOVE. THE GLASS MOLD OF THE PRESENT INVENTION CAN SIGNIFICANTLY CONTRIBUTE TO REDUCTION IN THE MOLDING COST FOR A GLASS HARD DISK SUBSTRATE, A GLASS LENS OR THE LIKE.
