Abstract
A method for producing a lubricant base oil that can produce a lubricant base oil having a high viscosity index in high yield is provided. An aspect of the method for producing a lubricant base oil according to the present invention comprises: a first hydroisomerization step of contacting a petroleum-derived hydrocarbon oil with a hydroisomerization catalyst; a second hydroisomerization step of contacting a synthetic oil synthesized by a Fischer-Tropsch reaction with the hydroisomerization catalyst used in the first hydroisomerization step; and a third hydroisomerization step of contacting a petroleum-derived hydrocarbon oil with the hydroisomerization catalyst used in the second hydroisomerization step.
