Abstract
Provided is a speed reducing and reversing device for a ship, having pinions relatively rotatably mounted on input shafts with each of the pinions and the corresponding input shaft connected through a hydraulic clutch, the speed reducing and reversing device being configured so that the bearings for the pinions can be sufficiently lubricated. This speed reducing and reversing device for a ship is provided with: a gear mechanism for transmitting power which is transmitted from the drive source; and a casing for containing the gear mechanism. The gear mechanism is provided with: a forward input shaft connected to the drive source; a forward input gear affixed to the forward input shaft; a forward pinion through which the forward input shaft is inserted so that the forward input shaft can rotate relative to the forward pinion; a pair of first bearings attached to two axial positions of the forward pinion; a forward hydraulic clutch capable of connecting the forward input gear and the forward pinion; a reverse input shaft extending parallel to the forward input shaft; a reverse input gear affixed to the reverse input shaft and meshing with the forward input gear; a reverse pinion through which the reverse input shaft is inserted so that the reverse input shaft can rotate relative to the reverse pinion; a pair of second bearings attached to axial two positions of the reverse pinion; a reverse hydraulic clutch capable of connecting the reverse input gear and the reverse pinion; an output gear meshing with both the forward pinion and the reverse pinion; an output shaft affixed to the output gear; and a propeller connected to the output shaft. The casing is formed by combining a first casing member and a second casing member which sandwich the forward and reverse input shafts from above and below, respectively. The forward and reverse input shafts each have formed therein: a supply path which extends in the axial direction and through which oil passes; and at least one branch path which is branched outward from the supply path in the radial direction and which supplies oil to each bearing. The casing is provided with receiving sections which receive oil discharged from the branch paths of the forward and reverse input shafts and which guide the oil to at least one of the bearings.
