THE DISCLOSED SCRAPER FOR CLEANING SURFACES AROUND REVOLVING KNIVES IN A CUTTER DRUM FOR CUTTING/COMMINUTING ORGANIC PLANT MATERIALS, PARTICULARLY TOBACCO MATERIALS, IS CHARACTERISED IN THAT IT IS MOUNTED IN A HOLDER (9) OF A ROTARY SHAFT (4) COUPLED WITH THE SHAFT OF THE CUTTER DRUM (1), THE SHAFT (4) OF THE SCRAPER (3) AND THE DRUM (1) HAVING A COMMON DRIVE. EMPLOYING THE SCRAPER ACCORDING TO THE INVENTION ALLOWS FOR CONTINUOUS, SIMPLE, CONVENIENT AND RELIABLE REMOVAL OF THE BUILDUP FROM THE BLADE ZONE OF THE CUTTING/COMMINUTING KNIFE.
