Abstract

THE PRESENT INVENTION IS PERTAINING TO A GROUTED SPLICE SLEEVE SYSTEM WITH STEEL PLATES FOR CONNECTING PRECAST CONCRETE MEMBERS TO FORM A CONTINUOUS PRECAST CONCRETE STRUCTURE. THE GROUTED SPLICE SLEEVE SYSTEM COMPRISES OF A GROUTED SPLICE SLEEVE (50) SPLICING A PAIR OF ALIGNED REINFORCEMENT BARS (55) WITH THREADED ENDS PARTIALLY EMBEDDED IN TWO INDIVIDUAL PRECAST CONCRETE MEMBERS WHEREBY A PLURALITY OF TAPERED NUTS (56) ARE COUPLED TO THE THREADED ENDS OF THE REINFORCEMENT BARS (52) TO ANCHOR THE GROUTING (54) IN THE GROUTED SPLICE SLEEVE (50). THE GROUTED SPLICE SLEEVE (50) COMPRISES OF A HOLLOW HOUSING (51) AND PLURALITY OF STEEL PLATES (53) AFFIXED PERPENDICULARLY TO THE HOLLOW HOUSING (51) MEANS FOR PREVENTING THE GROUTING (54) FROM SLIPPING OUT OF THE HOLLOW HOUSING (51).
