Abstract

A POLISHING COMPOSITION FOR POLISHING A SUBSTRATE FOR A MAGNETIC DISC, WHICH CAN INHIBIT THE CLOGGING OF THE POLISHING PAD DURING THE POLISHING PROCESS, AND A POLISHING METHOD USING THE POLISHING COMPOSITION ARE PROVIDED. THE POLISHING COMPOSITION CONTAINS A FIRST AND A SECOND ORGANIC ACIDS SELECTED FROM SPECIFIC GROUP FOR EACH ORGANIC ACID. THE POLISHING COMPOSITION CONTAINS ITACONIC ACID AS A N INDISPENSABLE ELEMENT, TOGETHER WITH AN ORGANIC ACID SELECTED FROM THE SPECIFIC GROUP. THE POLISHING COMPOSITION CAN EXHIBIT POLISHING ACCELERATING FUNCTION AND PRECXIPITATION INHIBITING FUNCTION IN GOOD BALANCE BY CONTAINING SPECIFIC COMBINATION OF THE ORGANIC ACID.
