Abstract
THE INVENTION RELATES TO A METHOD AND DEVICE FOR TREATING DREDGED MATERIAL (50) EXTRACTED BY MEANS OF A DREDGING VESSEL (30). IN THE METHOD THE DREDGED MATERIAL (50) IS FED FROM THE DREDGING VESSEL (30) TO AT LEAST ONE CENTRIFUGAL SEPARATOR (10), WHICH CENTRIFUGAL SEPARATOR SEPARATES THE DREDGED MATERIAL INTO A WET FRACTION (51) AND A DRY FRACTION (52), WHEREIN AT LEAST THE DRY FRACTION IS COLLECTED. THE INVENTION LIKEWISE RELATES TO A METHOD FOR TRANSFERRING LARGE QUANTITIES OF DREDGED MATERIAL FROM EXTRACTION AREAS TO A RECOVERY AREA LOCATED A GREAT DISTANCE AWAY. THE METHOD COMPRISES OF TRANSPORTING DREDGED MATERIAL, BROUGHT FOR THIS PURPOSE INTO TRANSPORTABLE CONDITION, USING A SEAGOING TRANSPORT VESSEL (40) WITH CONSIDERABLY LARGER DIMENSIONS THAN A DREDGING VESSEL (30), WHEREIN THE TRANSPORTABLE CONDITION IS ACHIEVED BY TREATING THE DREDGED MATERIAL ACCORDING TO THE ABOVE DESCRIBED METHOD.
