Abstract

TO PROVIDE A VEHICLE TAIL LAMP APPARATUS THAT ALLOWS, WITH A SIMPLE STRUCTURE, A VIEWER TO DETERMINE ORIENTATION OF A VEHICLE BODY BY DIFFERENTIATING BETWEEN HOW THE VEHICLE BODY IS VIEWED FROM A REAR OF THE VEHICLE BODY AND HOW THE VEHICLE BODY IS VIEWED FROM A SIDE OF THE VEHICLE BODY. [SOLVING MEANS] A TAIL LAMP APPARATUS INCLUDES A BULB 50 DISPOSED ON A BASE MEMBER 21, THE BULB 50 ILLUMINATING A REARWARD SIDE OF A VEHICLE BODY; SHEET-LIKE MEMBERS 31 DISPOSED AT LEFT AND RIGHT OF THE BULB 50 IN A VEHICLE WIDTH DIRECTION, THE SHEET-LIKE MEMBERS 31 EXTENDING TOWARD THE REARWARD SIDE OF THE VEHICLE BODY UP TO A POSITION AT WHICH THE SHEET-LIKE MEMBERS 31 COVER AT LEAST THE BULB 50 IN A VEHICLE BODY SIDE VIEW; AND A LENS 22 DISPOSED ON THE BASE MEMBER 21, THE LENS 22 COVERING AT LEAST AN OUTSIDE IN THE VEHICLE WIDTH DIRECTION OF THE SHEET-LIKE MEMBERS 31. THE SHEET-LIKE MEMBERS 31 INCLUDE A THROUGH HOLE 33 FORMED THEREIN. THE SHEET-LIKE MEMBERS 31 ARE EXTENDED UP TO A POSITION NEAR A SURFACE OF THE LENS 22 ON THE REARWARD SIDE OF THE VEHICLE BODY. THE THROUGH HOLE 33 IS FORMED IN PLURALITY AND THE PLURALITY OF THROUGH HOLES 33 IS LINED UP IN A VEHICLE BODY VERTICAL DIRECTION. THE SHEET-LIKE MEMBERS ARE FORMED INTEGRALLY WITH A REFLECTOR 30 DISPOSED ON THE BASE MEMBER 21, THE REFLECTOR 30 REFLECTING AN ILLUMINATION LIGHT OF THE BULB 50 TOWARD THE REARWARD SIDE OF THE VEHICLE BODY. OF AN INNER PERIPHERAL SURFACE 36 OF THE THROUGH HOLE 33, AN EDGE PORTION ON THE REARWARD SIDE OF THE VEHICLE BODY AND ON THE OUTSIDE IN THE VEHICLE WIDTH DIRECTION IS CHAMFERED TO FORM AN INCLINED SURFACE 33A.
