[PROBLEM] TO PROVIDE A WIRE ROPE REMOTE SURVEILLANCE SYSTEM WHICH CAN PERFORM REMOTE, ACCURATE, OBJECTIVE AND CONTINUOUS SURVEILLANCE CONCERNED WITH DETERIORATION OF A WIRE ROPE (2) USED AS RUNNING CABLE IN AN IMPORTANT FACILITY OR A FACILITY WHICH HAS TENDENCY TOWARD A SERIOUS ACCIDENT WHEN DAMAGED. [MEANS FOR RESOLUTION] THE SYSTEM INCLUDES; A UNIT (3, 4) WHICH MEASURES A STATUS OF A WIRE ROPE (2); A FIRST SURVEILLANCE APPARATUS (6) WHICH RECORDS, DISPLAYS AND ACCUMULATES MEASURED DATA OUTPUT FROM THE MEASURING UNIT(3, 4), PROCESSES THE MEASURED DATA, MAKES A JUDGMENT BASED ON THE RELATION WITH THE ACCUMULATED MEASURED DATA AS TO WHETHER OR NOT THERE IS AN ABNORMALITY, AND ISSUES A WARNING WHEN THERE IS AN ABNORMALITY; AND A SECOND SURVEILLANCE APPARATUS (7) WHICH IS CONNECTED TO THE FIRST SURVEILLANCE APPARATUS (6) THROUGH A COMMUNICATION UNIT (5, 6B) AND WHICH EXCHANGES DATA WITH THE FIRST SURVEILLANCE APPARATUS (6), CHECKS DATA OF THE JUDGMENT UNIT WHEN RECEIVING A WARNING, MAKES A FINAL DECISION, AND INFORMS THE FIRST 20 SURVEILLANCE APPARATUS OF THE FINAL DECISION.
