Abstract

THE PRESENT INVENTION RELATES TO A VOLUME CONTROL MODULE FOR WATER FLUSHING SYSTEMS COMPRISING A SYPHON BREAKER PASSAGEWAY COMPONENT (8) AFFIXED TO AND CONNECTED TO A FLUSH CHAMBER (2) THROUGH AN ON ORIFICE INSIDE A CISTERN AND ENCAPSULATED IN A HOLLOW COMPARTMENT (20), A SLIDER FLOAT MEMBER (24) WITHIN THE SAID HOLLOW COMPARTMENT (20). A BREATHER HOLE (34) AND SUCTION HOLE (36) ON THE INNER SIDE OF THE HOLLOW COMPARTMENT (20), AIR INLETS (22) ON THE OUTER SIDE OF THE HOLLOW COMPARTMENT (20) AND A FULL-FLUSH AND HALF-FLUSH ACTUATOR (32) WHEREIN THE FLOAT IS SHAPED TO MOVE VERTICALLY WITHIN THE HOLLOW COMPARTMENT (20) AND BE ABLE TO SLIDE OVER THE BREATHER HOLE (34) AND THEREBY COMPLETELY COVER AND SEAL THE SAID BREATHER HOLE (34) IF A FULL FLUSH OF THE CISTERN IS REQUIRED. IN THE CASE OF A FULL FLUSH THE FLOAT IS RETAINED IN ITS POSITION OF COVERING THE BREATHER HOLE ('34) BY THE LOWER PRESSURE ARISING FROM THE FLOWING WATER IN THE FLUSH CHAMBER (2); WHICH LOWER PRESSURE, ACTING THROUGH THE SUCTION HOLE (36) AND BREATHER HOLE (34). PULLS THE FLOAT TOWARDS THE WALL OF THE HOLLOW COMPARTMENT (20) AND THEREBY ENHANCES THE SEALING OF THE BREATHER HOLE (34) BY THE FLOAT.
