Abstract
THE PRESENT INVENTION RELATES TO A HONEYCOMB BODY ASSEMBLY THAT SERVES AS A BASIS FOR A CATALYST FOR A VEHICLE WITH AN INTERNAL COMBUSTION ENGINE, AND IN PARTICULAR SERVES TO CATALYTICALLY CLEAN EXHAUST GAS WITH HIGH PROPORTIONS OF HYDROCARBONS, COMPRISING AT LEAST TWO SEGMENTS (4,5), WHICH ARE SURROUNDED BY A JACKET TUBE (1) . THE FRONT SEGMENT (4) OF THE JACKET TUBE (1) IN TERMS OF THE FLOW DIRECTION (S) INCLUDES AT LEAST ONE LAYER OF A STRUCTURED METAL FOIL (2) APPLIED TO THE INNER SURFACE OF JACKET TUBE (9) ;THE CENTRAL REGION OF THIS FRONT SEGMENT (4) IS FREE OF METAL FOILS . THE REAR SEGMENT (5) IN TERM OF THE FLOW DIRECTION (S) IS FILLED BY A HONEYCOMB BODY (6) . THE FRONT SEGMENT (4) ,WHICH ENABLES GOOD HEAT DISSIPATION , OFFERS A BASIS FOR THE CATALYSIS OF A LARGE PROPORTION OF THE HYDROCARBONS, SO THAT OVERHEATING OF THE HONEYCOMB BODY (6) MOUTED IN THE REAR SEGMENT (5) CAN BE AVERTED.(FIG 1)
