AN ENRICHMENT POOL LAYER IS CREATED ADJACENT SAID DIFFUSION BARRIER AND CONTAINS SILICON AND CHROMIUM AND OPTIONALLY TITANIUM OR ALUMINIUM. A REACTIVE GAS TREATMENT MAY BE USED TO GENERATE A REPLENISHABLE PROTECTIVE SCALE ON THE OUTERMOST SURFACE OF SAID COMPONENT.
