Abstract
THE INVENTION RELATES TO A PROCESS FOR THE RECOVERY OF THE RESIDUAL CHARGE FRACTION, WHICH DURING THE ADSORPTIVE REMOVAL OF SULPHUROUS COMPONENTS, IN PARTICULAR H2S, COS AND MERCAPTANTS, FROM A LIQUID CHARGE FRANCTION CONTAINING C2+-HYDROCARBONS HAS BEEN ATTACHED TO THE ADSORBENT SUBSEQUENT TO THE ADSORPTION PHASE, WHEREIN AT LEAST TWO ADSORBERS IN CYCLICAL ALTERNATION UNDERGO AN ADSORPTIONPHASE AND A DESORPTION PHASE, AND WHEREIN SUBSEQUENT TO THE ADSORPTION PHASE THE LIQUID IN THE ADSORBER TO BE RE-GENERATED IS FIRST OF ALL REMOVED BY MEANS OF A GAS STREAM. THE PROCESS COMPRISES THE FOLLOWING STEPS:A) SUBSEQUENT TO THE REMOVAL OF LIQUID FROM THE ADSORBENT THE RESIDUAL CHARGE FRACTION ATTACHED TO THE ADSORBENT IS WITHDRAWN FROM THE ADSORBER TOGETHER WITH THE RESIDUAL GAS STREAM STILL LEFT IN THE ADSORBER:B) THE MIXTURE OF RESIDUAL CHARGE FRACTION AND RESIDUAL GAS STREAM, IN THE FOLLOWING ONLY REFERRED TO AS MIXTURE, IS COOLED DOWN TO SUCH AN EXTENT THAT THE MAJOR PART OF THE RESIDUAL CHARGE FRACTION IS CONDENSED, AND C)THE CONDENSED RESIDUAL CHARGE FRACTION IS SEPARATED FROM THE MIXTURE IN A SEPARATOR.
