THERE IS PROVIDED AN IMAGE-STORAGE OPERATION UNIT (3) IN A CAR MOUNTED IMAGE-STORAGE SYSTEM CAPABLE OF PICKING UP IMAGES SHOWING DRIVING CONDITIONS THAT ARE EFFECTIVE IN PROVING THE CAUSE OF AN ACCIDENT WHEN A DRIVER IS INVOLVED IN THE ACCIDENT. THE SYSTEM COMPRISES IMAGE-STORAGE MEANS, ENGINE ACTUATION DETECTION MEANS (15), TIMER MEANS (16) OPERABLE FOR A GIVEN TIME IN RESPONSE TO AN ENGINE STOP SIGNAL OUTPUTTED FROM THE ENGINE ACTUATION DETECTION MEANS (15), AND OPERATION MEANS (14) FOR GENERATING AN ON SIGNAL IN RESPONSE TO AN ENGINE START SIGNAL OUTPUTTED FROM THE ENGINE ACTUATION DETECTION MEANS (15) AND FOR GENERATING AN OFF SIGNAL IN RESPONSE TO AN OPERATION END SIGNAL OUTPUTTED BY THE TIMER MEANS (16) WHEREIN THE OPERATION OF THE IMAGE-STORAGE MEANS IS CONTROLLED IN RESPONSE TO THE ON SIGNAL OR OFF SIGNAL OUTPUTTED FROM THE OPERATION MEANS (14).(FIG 1)
