AN INTAKE APPARATUS IS PROVIDED FOR A MULTI-CYLINDER INTERNAL COMBUSTION ENGINE WHICH INCLUDES A CYLINDER HEAD (3) FORMED WITH A PLURALITY OF INTAKE PORTS (4) EACH HAVING AN OUTER END. THE INTAKE APPARATUS INCLUDES AN UPSTREAM MEMBER (6) HAVING A BORE PASSAGE (8) WITH AN OUTLET END, AND AN INTAKE MANIFOLD (11) OF A RESIN MATERIAL CONNECTING THE BORE PASSAGE (8) TO THE RESPECTIVE INTAKE PORTS (4). THE MANIFOLD (11) INCLUDES A MAIN TUBE (12) CONNECTED TO THE OUTLET END OF THE BORE PASSAGE (8) IN SOCKET-PLUG RELATION, AND A PLURALITY OF BRANCH TUBES (13) EACH CONNECTED TO THE OUTER END OF A CORRESPONDING INTAKE PORT (4, 4') IN SOCKET-PLUG RELATION.(FIG. 1)
