Abstract

A PLATE-TYPE FLUID PASSAGE DEVICE (I, 26) FOR MOUNTING ON A HEAT EXCHANGER (25) OF A REFRIGERATION CYCLE OR THE LIKE INCLUDES A PLURALITY OF FLAT PLATES (2,4, 31, 32) COMBINED WITH EACH OTHER. THE PLURALITY OF FLAT PLATES ARE SELECTED FROM A GROUP CONSISTING OF A FLAT SHAPED TO HAVE A PASSAGE (2C, 4B, 4C, 31B1, 31B2, 31B3) AND/OR HOLES (2B) TO WHICH PIPES (5, 6, 29, 33) IN COMMUNICATION WITH THE PASSAGE ARE CONNECTED, AND PROJECTED PORTIONS FORMED RESPECTIVELY AROUND THE HOLES, AND A FLAT PLATE NOT SUBJECTED TO THE ABOVE SHAPING. THE PASSAGE HAS A DOME-LIKE SHAPE OBTAINED BY CUTTING A CYLINDER ALONG A PLANE PARALLEL TO AN AXIS OF THE CYLINDER. A SECTION OF THE PASSAGE ALONG A PLANE PERPENDICULAR TO THE AXIS HAS A SEMI-CIRCULAR SHAPE. ENDS OF THE PASSAGE HAS A GENERALLY SPHERICAL SHAPE. THE PIPES ARE PRESS- FITTED IN THE FLAT PLATE IN A DIRECTION OF PROJECTING OF THE PROJECTED PORTIONS RISING PERPENDICULARLY FROM THE FLAT PLATE. A BRAZING SHEET (3, 25) IS INTERPOSED BETWEEN THE FLAT PLATES, AND THE BRAZING SHEET IS COMBINED WITH THE FLAT PLATES, AND IS MELTED BY BRAZING IN A FURNACE TO ADHERE TO THE FLAT PLATES.(FIGURE 1)
