Abstract

IT IS KNOWN TO CONNECT A NETWORK COMPRISING A CAPACITOR, A RESISTOR AND A DIODE TO THE TRANSFORMER (TR) FOR THE LIMITATION OF VOLTAGE SPIKES. THE TASK IS TO REDUCE THE RELATIVELY HIGH LOSS OF ABOUT 10% AT THE RESISTOR. THE DESCRIBED NETWORK IS REPLACED BY A CAPACITOR (C2), AND PARALLEL TO THE DIODE (D1) GENERATING THE OPERATING VOLTAGE ON THE SECONDARY SIDE LIES A SWITCH (T2) WHICH GENERATES A CURRENT (IT2) FORM THE CHARGING CAPACITOR (C1) BACK TO THE SECONDARY WINDING (2) AFTER THE DECAY OF THE CHARGING CURRENT (ID) FOR THE CHARGING CAPACITOR (C1).IN PARTICULAR SWITCHING POWER SUPPLY FOR A TELEVISION RECEIVER OR A VIDEO RECORDER.
