A COAXIAL CABLE CONNECTOR COMPRISES A DIELECTRIC BOX-SHAPED HOUSING (13) IN WHICH SIGNAL AND GROUND CONTACTS (11,12) ARE SECURED, THE SIGNAL CONTACT (11) INCLUDING A SLOT (11A) IN WHICH AN EXPOSED END OF AN INNER INSULATION LAYER (3) INCLUDING CENTER CONDUCTOR (2) OF A COAXIAL CABLE (1) IS INSERTED SO THAT THE EDGES OF THE SLOT (11A) DISPLACE THE INSULATION LAYER (3) AND ELECTRICALLY ENGAGE THE CENTER CONDUCTOR (2), THE GROUND CONTACT (12) INCLUDING A CABLE-RECEIVING SECTION (12B) FOR RECEIVING A WIRE BRAID (4) AND HAVING A PLATE SPRING (12A) AND V-SHAPED ENGAGING MEMBERS (12B) WITH THE PLATE SPRING (12A) BIASING THE WIRE BRAID (4) AGAINST THE ENGAGING MEMBERS (12B).
