Abstract

A SALVAGING METHOD FOR THE PHOSPHOR LAYER OF A PANEL OF COLOR PICTURE TUBE IS DISCLOSED WHICH IS CONSTITUTED SUCH THAT, UPON FINDING A DEFECT IN THE PHOSPHOR STRIPES, THE DEFECTIVE PANEL IS PICKED OUT FROM THE MAIN STREAM OF THE SLURRY PROCESS, A SELECTIVE CLEAN-OFF PROCESS FOR REMOVING THE PHOSPHOR STRIPES OF THE PICKED-OUT PANEL IS CARRIED OUT IN STATE WITH THE BLACK MATRICES REMAINED INTACT, AND THEN, THE CLEANED-OFF PANEL IS RE-FED INTO THE SLURRY PROCESS, I.E., THE PHOSPHOR STRIPES FORMING PROCESS TO FORM NEW PHOSPHOR STRIPES. ACCORDING TO THE PRESENT INVENTION, THE MAN HOUR AND THE CLEANING WATER ARE SAVED, AND THE WASTING OF GRAPHITE AND THE PHOTOSENSITIVE MATERIAL ARE PREVENTED, AS WELL AS REDUCING THE USE OF THE CHEMICAL COMPOUND FOR REMOVING THE BLACK MATRICES, THEREBY ULTIMATELY CONTRIBUTING TO LOWERING THE MANUFACTURING COST OF COLOR PICTURE TUBE.
