Abstract

THE INVENTION CONCERNS A PROCESS FOR THE PREPARATION OF GLUTAMIC ACID UNDER THE CRYSTALLIZED STATE, PREFERABLY UNDER THE FORM OF THE MONOSODIUM SALT THEREOF OR MSG. THIS PROCESS COMPRISES, AFTER AN ULTRAFILTRATION OF THE FERMENTED MUST, TO OBTAIN A PERMEATE AND A RETAINED PRODUCT THE STEPS OF CONCENTRATING THE PERMEATE, HYDROLYSING THE RETAINED PRODUCT, FILTERING SAID HYDROLYSED RETAINED PRODUCT; MIXING AT LEAST A PORTION OF THE FILTERED ACIDIC JUICE WITH THE GLUTAMIC ACID CONCENTRATED JUICE SO AS TO CRYSTALLIZE GLUTAMIC ACID; AND FILTERING THIS LAST MIXTURE TO OBTAIN CRISTALLIZATION MOTHER- LIQUOURS AND A GLUTAMIC ACID CAKE WHICH IS PREFERABLY PURIFIED. THIS PROCESS PROVIDES A MSG OF EXCELLENT PURITY AS WELL AS SALTS AND AN ORGANIC CONCENTRATE DIRECTLY COMMERCIALIZABLE RESPECTIVELY AS FERTILIZER AND IN THE ANIMAL FEED.
