Abstract

A FLUSH MOUNTED ELECTRICAL SWITCHING ASSEMBLY HAS A MOUNTING PLATE (3) ATTACHABLE TO A MOUNTING BOX FIXED IN A WALL OR SIMILAR SURFACE. THE MOUNTING PLATE (3) DEFINES ONE OR A PLURALITY OF OPENINGS (4) EACH TO RECEIVE A SWITCH MODULE (1) WITH THE PERIPHERY OF EACH OPENING (4) PRESENTING OPPOSED ENGAGING SHOULDER (8). THE SWITCH MODULE (1) TO BE INSERTED IN THE OPENING (4) IS CONTAINED IN A HOUSING (2) WITH OPPOSED RESILIENT ARMS (11, 12) RISING UPWARDLY FROM THE BASE OF HOUSING (2) TO ALLOW THE ARMS (11, 12) TO BE MOVED FROM THE NORMAL EXPANDED POSITION TO A COMPRESSED POSITION ALLOWING THE HOUSING (2) AND ARMS (11, 12) TO BE PASSED THROUGH FROM THE FRONT OF THE PLATE (3) WITH THE RESILIENT ARMS (11, 12) SPRINGING OUT TO ENGAGE WITH THE SHOULDERS (8) TO HOLD THE SWITCH MODULE (1) IN POSITION IN THE MOUNTING PLATE (3).(FIG. 1)
