Description

COMPOSITION BASED ON VEGETABLE EXTRACTS AND USEFUL ESSENTIAL OILS IN THERAPY, COSMETICS AND DIETETICS FIELD OF THE INVENTION The present invention relates to novel compositions useful in the pharmaceutical, dietetic and cosmetic fields and, more particularly, to a novel composition associated with titled plant extracts and with essential oils that provide potentiated effects.
BACKGROUND OF THE INVENTION Various natural substances have been used for several years due to their pharmacological and cosmetological properties. The plants are often used directly, simply dehydrated and conditioned in bulk after harvesting, or they are cut to different degrees, or even crushed to make infusions, or sprayed at normal temperature or at low temperature. In all cases, the conservation of dried vegetables, in bulk or treated as indicated below, can only be assured for a relatively short period of time, since the conservation for a period of a few months, including a few weeks, it produces a loss of your P15S7 / 99MX properties what is very often linked with very volatile or sensitive components to oxidation. The fine pulverization of a vegetable increases the contact surface of the plant cell content with the ambient air and favors its alteration, to the point that very often it is necessary to keep the powders under vacuum or under an atmosphere of inert gas to preserve its properties. In addition, for example, in the case of grinding for the preparation of powders, it is necessary to use shredders cooled with liquid nitrogen to avoid a heating that could cause the loss of volatile substances. Among the different known forms of presentation that are very often used are dry extracts, as well as essential oils, also called oils of vegetable origin. The dry extracts, in general, are obtained by the extraction of the dry plant with water, alone or added with ethanol in variable quantities. The extraction juices are concentrated, then dried and excipients are added to facilitate drying and preservation. Following the techniques used, between 0.15 grams and approximately 1 gram of dry extract can be obtained for every 2 grams of the dry plant. Dry extracts prepared by classical techniques are also generally P1567 / 99MX hygroscopic and its conservation is difficult. The plant extracts can also be incorporated as adjuvants in the compositions, as described for example in Patent No. FR-A-2,688,137, which relates to moisturizing cosmetic compositions. The aromatic plants contain on average 2% by weight of an odoriferous substance, also called "essence", which is a natural secretion of the plant organism. Once extracted from the vegetable, in general by steam distillation, it is called "essential oil". Due to its chemical composition, most essential oils have antiseptic and bactericidal properties. Depending on the botanical species, they may have specific properties that have been the subject of numerous studies for many years, and that allow us to use them both externally and internally in the cosmetics and therapeutic sciences. The essential oils are used more particularly in aromatherapy for the treatment of various infectious states, either as the main therapeutic agent or as an adjuvant. For example, FR-A-2,670,386 discloses a cosmetic composition containing a basil essential oil intended to serve as a repellent against certain insects. However, on the one hand the extracts of P1567 / 99MX commercially available vegetables generally exhibit insufficient stability which further decreases their efficacy and, on the other hand, we know that essential oils are extremely sensitive to oxidation and preservation, therefore it is done by avoiding the air. In addition, essential oils should be used with caution and it is considered that they should be avoided in isolation, and on the contrary it is necessary to mix them with various excipients due to the unpleasant sensations that cause contact with the mucous membranes of the mouth. The result is that the effectiveness of the treatments is quite limited and, also in the case of capsules, knowing that very often it is necessary to administer more than 10 grams of the plant per day to obtain a favorable result, the user would have to absorb more than 50 capsules a day to be able to wait for the treatment to be effective. The same happens for the other classic forms, for example infusions, firings or tinctures. Also, using the classical techniques, you can not expect to obtain useful results more than absorbing each day quantities at least equal to 6 infusions or 60 grams of tincture to 1/5 or simply homeopathic tincture to 1/10 of the fresh plant, containing alcohol to a high degree, of the order of 60 volumes. Obviously it is impossible P1567 / 99MX try to absorb such amounts. Likewise, essential oils formulated by classical techniques can only be used diluted in alcoholic solutions with a high alcohol content. Patent No. FR-A-2 572 935 describes a composition for food use comprising a substrate constituted by a vegetable powder, which contains an essential oil that comes from the same vegetable. The essential oil must be heated to be incorporated into the substrate, and this results in a volatilization of most of the oil, as well as a certain instability of the composition. Therefore there is a need for effective and stable compositions useful in small amounts and allowing simple administration of the essential active ingredients of the plants.
OBJECTS AND ADVANTAGES OF THE PRESENT INVENTION The present invention has for its object novel compositions useful in the therapeutic, dietetic and cosmetic sciences, comprising plant extracts titrated with active principles, and essential oils, in admixture, if necessary, with pharmaceutical or cosmetic excipients. acceptable and that present an excellent stability during the time.
P1567 / 99MX The novel compositions according to the invention are preferably present in the form of orally administrable capsules or capsules. In this way they can be presented in a topically administrable form, for example a gel. According to a preferred embodiment of the invention, the essential oils used in the compositions are in the form of microcapsules. The microcapsules contain an essential oil and are preferably associated with a buffer or love absorber. The buffer or buffer used in the invention is mixed with the microcapsules and is generally constituted by bicarbonate or acid carbonate, a phosphate buffer or even ethylenediamine tetraacetic acid. Sodium bicarbonate is preferably used. The buffer facilitates gastric tolerance and also makes it possible to avoid having to proceed to an enteric coating of the capsules containing the composition of the invention. A mixture of microcapsules containing two different essential oils can be used in accordance with the present invention. The size of the microcapsules used in the present invention is generally between 25 μm and 0.5 mm, and preferably between 50 μm and 300 μm. The polymers used to form the walls of the microcapsules can be selected P1567 / 99MX among those currently used in pharmaceutical and cosmetic techniques. According to the invention, gelatin, gum arabic or gum arabic, isolated or in admixture, is preferably used. According to the invention, for example, capsules or capsules containing between 0.05 g and 0.50 g of titled dry extract and between 0.05 g and 0.50 g of essential oil microcapsules can be prepared for each capsule. These amounts are not limiting and may vary depending on the size of the capsules. The compositions of the invention also advantageously associate dried extracts titrated with active ingredients of several plants, with one or several essential microencapsulated essences and in buffer solution, of other plants. In the case of dermatological or cosmetological application, the compositions of the invention can be easily adapted to an external use by incorporating to a suitable excipient the liquid or dried plant extracts, titrated or not, and the microcapsules of essential oils. Also, it is possible to prepare compositions according to the present invention in the form of "gel for topical application." A suitable excipient can be, for example, a gel such as carbopol gel.
P1567 / 99MX The compositions according to the present invention have several advantages in relation to the classical forms of presentation of natural substances. In particular, they are totally assimilable and have an improved bioavailability, an excellent stability over time without it being necessary to keep them under very rigorous conditions of temperature and humidity, and promote a potentiation of the effects of the natural active principles used. In addition, they preserve the integrity of essential oils against volatilization and oxidation, and microencapsulation prevents the risks of reaction between the constituents of associated essential oils, as the case may be. Finally, tolerance, mainly gastric tolerance, is improved, even if the composition contains mixtures of microcapsules as when the administration of a mixture of essential oils, generally produces an irritant effect for the mucous membranes. More particularly, the compositions according to the invention promote immediate action due to the microcapsules of essential oils, supplemented by a prolonged action that comes from the plant extracts. In this way, the tests carried out with various compositions according to the invention have P1567 / 99MX showed that a capsule containing dried plant extracts titrated with active ingredient and microcapsules of essential oils, have an activity equivalent to that of 10 to 30 classic capsules of dried vegetables. The following examples illustrate the invention in greater detail without limiting its scope. In these examples, the parts are provided by weight, if not otherwise indicated.
EXAMPLE 1 It is prepared by a continuous technique (hydroalcoholic extraction, concentration at 35 °, and then vacuum-dried), a dry extract of rosemary concentrated to 1: 8 and titrated, ie 0.15 g of dry extract per 1.2 g of plant. On the other hand, by means of a microencapsulation technique by coacervation, microcapsules (gelatin content: 20%) containing a rosemary essence with a buffer (0.15 g of essence per 3.35 g of plant) are prepared. The absorber or buffer used is sodium bicarbonate. After mixing the microcapsules, the buffer and the dried extract powder of rosemary, in a Frogerais cubic mixer, a composition is obtained which is incorporated into the capsules (capsule number 1) using a filling device P1567 / 99MX per line. The composition of the capsule is therefore: Dry extract entitled rosemary (1: 8) 0.15 g Rosemary essence microcapsules regulated 0.15 g A capsule of the composition prepared in this form corresponds to 4.55 g of dried plant, ie approximately 22 to 23 capsules of plant powder according to the classical technique. This composition has digestive tonic properties that promotes digestion allowing its use as a dietary supplement.
EXAMPLE 2 The same preparation technique as in Example 1 is used, a dry extract powder of burdock (1: 5) is prepared in mixture with a dry extract powder titled hop (1: 5). ~ * On the other hand, regulated microencapsulated essences of thyme and regulated microencapsulated essences of mint are prepared. The whole is mixed and a 400 mg capsule having the following composition is thus obtained: Burdock dried extract (1: 5) 0.10 g Dried hops extract (1: 5) 0.10 g Regulated thyme essence microcapsules 0.10 g Regulated mint essence microcapsules 0.10 g One capsule of the composition prepared in P1567 / 99MX this form corresponds to 2.8 g of the dried plant, that is to say approximately 10 capsules of plant powder following a classical technique. This composition has properties of hepatic tonic and cutaneous antiseptic, allowing its use in therapeutic and dietetic for the treatment of cutaneous manifestations.
EXAMPLE 3 A composition in the form of a dermal gel for dermatological use is prepared by topical application, with the following composition: hydroalcoholic extract of harpagofito 40 g hydroalcoholic extract of juniper berry 10 g microencapsulated essence of eucalyptus citriodora 2 g special excipient of instant absorption 50 g A dermal gel having anti-inflammatory properties is thus obtained.
