Description

ROTATING HOPPER FEEDER SYSTEM FOR VARIOUS SIZES AND TYPES OF PRODUCTS BACKGROUND OF THE INVENTION At present there are different types of feeders for products such as eyelets, rivets or similar. Among the best known are those of the vibratory hopper type and the rotary hopper type.
The feeders of type vibrating hopper consist of a cylindrical or conical hopper with an axial axis arranged in vertical form, with the open end in the upper part. This type of feeders work based on an electromagnetic principle that causes vibration in the hopper, which causes the product to advance from the bottom of the hopper to the upper end of it to feed the product to conventional slides.
The feeders of vibratory hopper type are very functional and can be fed in them different sizes of products, however they have a great disadvantage in the high cost of their parts and therefore of the global machine.
On the other hand, feeders type rotary hopper are the most common in the market, consist of a hopper with slots that rotates accommodates and allows the product to leave the hopper to be fed later to conventional slides, however, This type of feeders has the disadvantage of only feeding a product size.
OBJECT OF THE INVENTION The object of the present invention is to provide a system for feeding various products such as eyes, rivets or the like, different from the known ones, since it allows to supply different sizes of products by simply changing the hopper to supply one or another size of product. It is another object of the invention to provide an interchangeable rotary hopper feeder system. It is still a further object of the invention to provide a versatile machine at a moderate cost both for the parts and for the machine as a whole, preserving and increasing the efficiency of the machine and the quality in the production.
BRIEF DESCRIPTION OF THE FIGURES Figure 1 is a front view of the feeder system. Figure 2 is a side view of the feeder system. Figure 3 is a sectional view of Figure 1. Figure 4 is a view analogous to 3 but includes the product. Figure 5 is a second hopper of different size to that of the previous figures showing a different product to that of Figure 4.
DETAILED DESCRIPTION OF THE INVENTION The invention includes a base or body of the feeder (40) and a hopper (10).
The base or body of the feeder (40) is the main structure, since there the components are fastened, it has a spout funnel (50), it includes an orifice through which the product is added and which leads it to a chamber formed by the inside the hopper (10) and the base or body of the feeder (40).
With respect to the hopper (10), the interior is conical in shape, ie it includes one end of greater diameter and another smaller, the greater end is open and includes some grooves (20), has a hole in the center of the hopper (10), where the shaft (60) on which the hopper rotates is inserted. The axis (60) can be an external element or part of the feeder base. The chamber formed by the inside of the hopper (10) and the base or body of the feeder (40) houses the product and rotates the hopper so that it comes out in an orderly manner. The size of the hopper (10), number and dimensions of the slots (20) depend on the product to be fed.
In addition, a preferably arc-shaped element with a greater radius and a smaller radius whose thickness allows all or part of it to be housed between the hopper and the feeder body as shown in figure 3, which we will name in further ahead as "sector 1" (70), this element has the function of preventing the product from leaving the hopper when the slots through which the product can exit pass through the area of sector 1 (70) when the hopper is rotated, this It is crucial in the design, because it allows interchangeable hoppers with different dimensions.
An arc-shaped circle element with a greater radius and a smaller radius whose smaller radius is greater than the greater radius of the hopper is arranged, is placed around part of the hopper and separated from it (which allows the product leaves the hopper), hereinafter referred to as "sector 2" (80), this element receives the product that leaves the hopper and together with it, keeps the product in its position so that later it is fed to some slides adjustable, known in the technical field. The sector 2 (80) has a separation of the feeder body approximately by a distance equal to that of the open end of the hopper with respect to the body of the feeder, as shown in Figure 3.
A protective disc (90) is included which prevents the hopper from being scratched by the force exerted by a spring (100) and which helps the hopper to rotate, whereby the disc may be optional depending on the design of the assembly.
The spring (100) and the clamping nut (110) are elements that fix the hopper in its position for a good operation. These two elements are only an example to keep the hopper in place (example of other elements: springs, screws, clamps or other similar) since the hopper suffers vibratory movements that could loosen the clamping nut.
EXAMPLE OF EMBODIMENT OF THE PREFERRED MODALITY OF THE INVENTION: In a preferred embodiment the product is fed by the upper part of the spout funnel of the base or body of the feeder; the product is housed in the chamber formed by the inside of the hopper and the base or body of the feeder; the hopper rotates driven by various mechanisms such as band, ratchet or equivalent type connected to the hopper shaft, accommodating the product in such a way that the body of the product passes through the slots of the hopper while the head of the product passes by the space between the end of the hopper and the base or body of the feeder.
The product leaves the hopper through the slots and is placed as follows: The body of the product is located in the space between the hopper and sector 2 while the head of the product is in the separation that exists between the body of the feeder with the hopper and sector 2; the product is maintained between sector 2 and the hopper until it is subsequently fed to adjustable slides.
To feed a different product, the elements that fix the hopper in position are removed, the hopper is removed and another is placed with different characteristics in the dimensions of the hopper, number of slots and dimensions different to the dimensions of the hopper and slots Finally, the elements that keep the new hopper in its position are replaced.
The basis of the change of product through other hoppers, is based on: - vary the dimensions (diameter) of the hopper to vary the space between sector 2 and the hopper, since that is where the product to be housed is located.
It is noted that in relation to this date, the best method known by the applicant to carry out the aforementioned invention, is the conventional one for the manufacture of the objects to which it relates.
