Abstract

The present invention relates to a portable punch comprising a) a handle having a generally planar upper portion, b) a pivot pin for pivotally mounting the handle on the base for pivotal movement about a longitudinal axis of said handle. pivot pin; c) characterized in said handle because it further has: i) a distal flange portion disposed substantially at an angle of 90 ° with respect to the flat upper portion, the distal flange portion extending substantially parallel to the longitudinal axis on a side of and separated of said pivot pin; ii) a proximal flange portion disposed substantially at an angle of 90 ° with respect to the flat upper portion, the proximal flange portion extending substantially parallel to said longitudinal axis and from a first end of the punch to a second end of said pivot pin; punch on the side of the pivot pin opposite to one side and separated from said pin of pivot, and d) said proximal flange portion terminates at a location below the planar top surface in an inverse loop portion defining a vertical edge portion disposed under the upper surface

Description

"PUNZÓN WITH SLIDING SKATE AND PUNZONES AJUST7? BLES" BACKGROUND OF THE INVENTION The punches with sliding skates are old. Skate punches with adjustable punch stations are also old, but blade removal is required to achieve the adjustment.
COMPENDIUM OF THE INVENTION Broadly, the present invention is a portable, adjustable punch with the adjustment achieved from the bottom of the punch without the removal of the skate. The fin handle is configured for additional resistance.
BRIEF DESCRIPTION OF THE DRAWINGS Figure 1 is a perspective view of the punch of the present invention having a handle and a lever; Figure 2 is a sectional view taken along line 2-2 of Figure 1 showing the inverse curl of the fin handle; Figure 3 is a perspective view of a punch with the lever removed; Figure 4 is a sectional view along line 4-4 of Figure 3; Figure 5 is a bottom perspective view of the punch with the skate removed; Figure 6 is a bottom partial perspective view of the punch with the skate installed; Figure 7 is a top perspective view of the base with the extended skid for emptying; Figure 8 is a top perspective view of the skate; Figure 9 is a plan view of the fin handle; and Figure 10 is an elevation view of the handle viewed from the edge of the inverse loop.
DESCRIPTION OF THE PREFERRED MODALITY In Figures 1 to 4, the punch 10 includes a base 11, end posts 12a, 12b, a handle 14 that includes a flat top surface 13, handle recesses 13a, 13b, 13c mounted for pivotal movement about the pins 16a, 16b in the posts 12a, 12b. The lever 17 is pivotally mounted on the brackets 18a, 18b. Also shown are the heads of the punch assembly 21a, 21b, 21c and the skate 23 mounted on the base rails 11b, 11b. Heads 21a-c include slot curls 34a-c remaining in slot 40 to prevent heads 21a-c from rotating as they are translated (see also Figure 7). Turning particularly to Figure 2, the handle 14 is formed of a rolled metal and comprises a flange end 14a distant essentially perpendicular to the flat surface 13 (remote from the pivot pin 16b); the distal flat portion 14b, the depression portion 13a, the proximal planar portion 14c, the vertical flange portion 14b proximate perpendicular to the planar surface 13 and the inverse loop portion 15. The inverse loop portion 15 is operated to provide rigidity and further strengthen the handle 14, and includes a bow portion 15a and a vertical edge portion 15b. The rolled metal of the handle 14 has a thickness T. Table 1 below shows the scales of the portions of the handle 14 in relation to the thickness T ..
Table 1 Portion (s) Dimension Scale 1. Tab next to 6T - 8T 2. Curl width b 2.5T - 4T 3. Curl depth c 2.5T - 4T 4. Closer flange more depth of the loop d 9T - 11T Returning to Figures 4 to 8, it will be seen that the heads of the punch assembly 21a, 21b and 21c are adjustable using retaining screws 26a, 26b and 26c running in adjustment grooves 27, 28 (Figure 5), while head slot projections 34a-c run, in longitudinal slot 40. The slot 40 is a longitudinal area below the top surface of the frame and a surface 111 of the bottom frame. The groove projections 34a-c extend beyond and below the surface of the frame, which allows the curl projections 34a-c to move back and forth in the slot 40 during adjustment of the head and while the rotation of the head 21a-c is prevented during the loosening of the heads, its movement to adjust the separation of the punch hole and its re-tightening. If a head 21a-c tries to spin its curl, the projection 34a-c will engage the lie edge of the frame to prevent this rotation. The curl projections 34a-c may be of other configurations, but a curved crimped configuration is preferred. The adjustment screws are screwed into threaded housing openings 31a, 31b and 31c (Figure 4). The pin P of the punch is shown in Figure 4. The lower part 11b of base is shown in Figure 5. The skate 23 has a central opening 29 to allow access to the adjusting screws 26a-c without removing the skate 23. Figure 7 shows the skate 23 opening by sliding to empty and further shows the base rail 11b, the uprights 12a, 12b, the slots 27, 28 and the adjusting screws 26a-c and the slot 40. In Figure 8 , the central opening 29 of the skid is skirted by a cap 36 having a height 36h sufficient to almost come up against the lower base part 11b in order to prevent chips from escaping and exiting through the central opening 28. Also shown are the flanges 23a, 23b of the skate and the slotted end 23c of the skate and the closed end 23d of the skate. The slots 37a, 37b allow the skate 23 to slide open without being removed from the base tabs 11b, 11b. When the skate 23 is opened by sliding, the end 29a of the cap engages the retaining screw 26c to limit its travel. The central opening 29 is longer than the distance (D) between the outer adjusting screws 26a and 26c so as to allow the sliding of the skate 23 relative to the base 11. The length of the opening 29 is less than the total length of the skate 23 so that the perforated paper that will be deposited all on one side of the cap 36 can migrate beyond the ends 29a, 29b of the cap to the other side as the punch 10 is handled and handled. Finally, in Figures 9 and 10, the structural curl 15 of the handle 14 has an amplitude B that is less than the total length A of the handle 14. Preferably, the length B is at least 60 percent of the length A .
