Description
STRUCTURE OF HYPODERMIC SAFETY SYRINGE
BACKGROUND OF THE INVENTION The present invention relates to hypodermic syringes and is more particularly related to a hypodermic safety syringe that allows the needle holder together with the needle cannula to be pulled back towards the interior of the barrel by the plunger, after the injection and allows the plunger to be disconnected from the rubber stopper and inserted in the front end of the barrel to deform the cannula that is inside the barrel. The needle cannula of a hypodermic syringe should be damaged after use and then disposed of properly. The publication of Taiwan Patent No. 210509 discloses a hypodermic safety syringe that allows the needle cannula to be pulled back into the barrel after use. However, this hypodermic safety syringe structure should be used with a specially designed needle cannula. Another drawback of this hypodermic safety syringe structure is that the deformed needle cannula is still projecting out of the barrel if the needle cover is disconnected. The publication of Taiwan Patent No. 212301 presents another syringe structure
P1256 / 96MX hypodermic safety. This hypodermic safety syringe structure can not yet be used with typical commercially available needle cannulas. Taiwan Patent Application No. 82218049 presents another hypodermic safety syringe structure. This hypodermic safety syringe structure is designed to fit any of a variety of commercially available needle cannulas. However, because the needle holder has an opening that is not sealed after the needle cannula has moved into the barrel, the needle cannula will still project out of the barrel.
SUMMARY OF THE INVENTION The present invention has been achieved to provide a hypodermic safety syringe that eliminates the aforementioned drawbacks. In accordance with one aspect of the present invention, the needle holder has a recess tip type arrow hole; The rubber stopper has an arrowhead type push rod that can be pushed to cause its engagement within the needle holder retention hole to allow the needle holder along with the needle cannula to be pulled back and into the barrel through of the plunger. In accordance with another aspect of the
P1256 / 96MX present invention, the plunger is connected to the rubber plug by a connector member, which has a connecting tip connected to the plunger that can be broken to allow the plunger to disconnect from the rubber plug and then be inserted into the front end of the plunger. barrel to deform the needle cannula when the needle cannula is received inside the barrel. In accordance with another aspect of the present invention, the front end of the barrel has an internal flange defining a front sloping wall and a rear sloping wall of different angles, such that the needle holder can move back towards the interior of the barrel, but it will stop or be prevented from moving forward towards the outside of the front end of the barrel.
BRIEF DESCRIPTION OF THE DRAWINGS t Figure 1 is a sectional view showing a hypodermic safety syringe according to the present invention; Figure 2 shows the plunger moved forward and inwardly of the barrel and the retaining rod of the forced rubber plug toward a coupling with the needle holder retaining hole in accordance with the present invention; Figure 3 shows the needle holder and the cannula
P1250 / 96MX needle received inside the barrel in accordance with the present invention; Figure 4 shows the connector tip of the broken connector member and the plunger disconnected from the connector member in accordance with the present invention; Figure 5 shows the plunger inserted in the front neck of the barrel and the deformed needle cannula in accordance with the present invention.
DETAILED DESCRIPTION OF THE PREFERRED MODALITY Referring to Figure 1, the barrel, referred to as 10, comprises an internal flange 11 raised around the inner wall of the front neck 12 thereof. A needle holder 30 is inserted into the front neck 12 of the barrel 10 and held in place by the internal flange 11 to maintain or hold the needle cannula, referred to as 20. The inner flange 11 has a front inclined wall 111 with a small slope and a rear inclined wall 112 of different angles. The forward inclined wall 111 and the rear inclined wall 112 are designed in such a way that the needle holder 30 can be pulled back towards the interior of the barrel 10, but can not be pushed forward outwardly from the front neck 12 of the barrel 10. The needle holder 30 comprises a longitudinally centered through hole 33 that imparts
P1256 / 96MX a conduit between the needle cannula 20 and the holding space of the barrel 10, an internal thread 32 around the through hole 33 longitudinally centered for the assembly of the needle cannula 20 and a retaining hole 31 of the tip type of arrow, at the rear end of the through hole 33, centered longitudinally and away from the needle cannula 20. The plunger, referred to as 40, has a location slot 402 around the periphery near the rear end. The front end of the plunger 40 is connected to a connector member 43. The connector member 43 has a connector tip 401 connected to the front end of the plunger 40. The connector tip 401 can easily break so that the plunger 40 can be disconnected from the connector member 43. The connector member 43 may be varied in shape. As an example of the present invention, the connector member 43 has a > plurality of circular tabs around the periphery of adjustment with the internal diameter of the barrel 10. A rubber plug 41 is fixedly attached to the connector member 43 on the front side away from the plunger 40. The rubber plug 41 has a rod arrow tip retention 42 which can be pressed to engage with the retention hole 31 arrow tip type of the needle holder 30. Referring now to Figures 2 to 5, when
l'i: "u > /" > ?, MX the plunger 40 moves forward into the barrel 10, the liquid medicine exits completely, under pressure, from the barrel 10 through the needle cannula 20 and, at the same time, the retention rod 42 tip type The arrowhead of the rubber plug 41 is forced into a coupling with the retention hole 31 of the arrowhead type of the needle holder 30 (see Figure 2). When the plunger 40 is pulled back, the needle holder 30 with the needle cannula 20 is pulled back towards the inside of the barrel 10 (see Figure 3). Because the arrow tip type retention hole 31 slopes slightly from the longitudinal center axis of the needle holder 30, the needle holder 30 and the needle cannula 20 are tilted as they move towards the inside of the barrel 10. When the connector member 43 stops at the rear end of the barrel 10, the plunger 40 is disconnected from the connector member 43 by breaking the connector tip 401 (see Figure 4) Then the plunger 40 is inserted into the front neck 12 of barrel 10 to deform the needle cannula 20. When the needle cannula 20 is deformed, the location slot 402 of the plunger 40 engages with the inner flange 11 of the front neck 12 of the barrel 10 and therefore, the plunger 40 is firmly retained in the front neck 12 barrel 10". It will be understood that the drawings are designed solely for the purpose of illustration and are not intended
PK'WiiMX as a definition of the limits and scope of the presented invention. For example, the retention hole 31 can be made conical or in the form of a triangular pyramid; the profile of the front end of the retaining rod 42 fits the configuration of the retaining hole 31 for a positive coupling.
