Abstract
The invention relates to a motorised application gun which is intended for the sealing of joints. The inventive gun comprises a hollow cylindrical inverted-T-shapedbody (4) having three threaded ends such that it can be coupled to the outlet (1),the electric rotor of the power-generating device (7) and the filler neck (9). The inventive gun contains a screw conveyor (8) which is housed in the shaft of the rotor and which can rotate in both directions together with the shaft depending on the position of the switch (10). In this way, by rotating in one direction, the screw conveyor mixes and homogenises the material to be applied, while, by rotating in the opposite direction, the conveyor moves the material and forces same through the outlet. The invention can be used without force in order to apply a continuous, constant flow of homogenous material, thereby producing uniform sealing beads.
Description
APPLICATION MOTORIZED GUN FOR SEALING OF JOINTS.
DESCRIPTION
The present invention relates to a motorized gun for the application of fluid materials such as putty or mortar in the sealing of joints, which offers better performance and durability in service than its predecessors.
This type of pistols, due to its innovative system of electric rotor and helical transmission with capacity of twist in both directions, allow through a single use, first knead-homogenize the fluid sealing material, and then apply it to the joints by means of a uniform cord and continuous, so they are of great interest in the construction sector and, in general, in any task that requires the sealing of gaps or cavities between surfaces.
However, pistols of these characteristics have developed the disadvantage that in prolonged jobs they end up clogging, preventing the application of a bead of always homogeneous putty, and suffer a strong wear in service, with the consequent periodic replacements. With the novelties that with the present invention are introduced, on the basis of a hollow helical conveyor (without core along its axis of rotation) of manganese steel and a polyethylene sheath inside, clogs are avoided in the nozzle of output and it is possible to considerably extend the durability of this tool for construction.
STATE OF THE ART -
All the systems of application of mortar or putty in joints to date known, are eminently manual. They are mainly based on the expulsion of the material to be applied, by manual pressure of the flexible and deformable container that contains it, or, in direct application of the putty by brush.
The results thus obtained depend greatly on the experience, skill and coordination of the personnel working with said systems; that is, qualified people are required so that the final finish does not suffer.
With the invention described below, the aforementioned problem is greatly simplified, since not only is there a convenient and handy motorized tool for sealing joints, guaranteeing a constant and constant flow of well-kneaded putty, with which the cord or layer of applied material is more homogeneous and uniform, avoiding having to resort only to specialized personnel, but due to the helical conveyor without inner cylindrical core and the construction materials of the internal jacket of the body of the pistol and of the Helical conveyor, jamming of the putty in the gun outlet nozzle is avoided and, in general, a high resistance to abrasion and greater durability of this tool in service is obtained.
THE INVENTION. -
In fact, the object of the present invention is a motorized spray gun for sealing joints, constituted by a handle, a power generating equipment with electric rotor, whose power source can be the electrical network, by cable, or a rechargeable battery attachable to the base of the handle, a three-position switch located on the upper part of the grip, a fluid ejection nozzle and a cylindrical and hollow body in the shape of an inverted T with the three threaded ends, in such a way that by one of them the body is coupled to the nozzle, by the opposite to the electrical rotor of the engine, and by that of the upper part, which constitutes the filling hopper of the gun, to the mouth of the container containing the fluid, enclosing said cylindrical body a conveyor or auger of dosing and kneading auger that is embedded in the axis of the electric rotor, and that can rotate in both directions jointly to the shaft, depending on the position in which the switch is held down, so that when it rotates in a clockwise direction, it moves and pushes the fluid material to be applied towards the outlet nozzle, and when it rotates in the opposite direction, it kneads and homogenizes said material.
The gun switch, located on the upper part of the handle, has three positions; in the rest position it has no effect on the machine, while keeping it pressed on the upper side, the electric rotor and, therefore, the helical conveyor, rotates in one direction, and keeping it pressing on the lower side, the rotor and the conveyor rotates in the opposite direction.
What essentially characterizes this application gun is, on the one hand, the type of conveyor that it incorporates, which is a hollow helical conveyor, that is, a worm screw without an internal cylindrical core along its axis of rotation, which avoids overpressure of the putty at the end of the ejection nozzle and, consequently, unwanted clogging and obstructions, and on the other hand, the construction materials, which, although it can be constructed in any material, be it plastic, metallic or synthetic, to achieve the best durability results, the helical conveyor is made of manganese steel, with high resistance to abrasion, while the inside of the cylindrical body is covered by a polyethylene jacket, to preserve the body from wear and tear be submitted by the conveyor in its turning movement.
The helical dosing and kneading conveyor embraces a conical piece incorporated in the interior of the nozzle at its front to cause greater pressure at the outlet of the fluid.
The expulsion nozzle, made of plastic material and conical shape, is attachable by its base to the cylindrical body of the gun, being able to be trimmed by the opposite end to the one of the base until obtaining a section of flow that guarantees the suitable thickness of the cord of viscous fluid to apply in service.
The gun can be of all types of dimensions and weights, and can apply different powers to the electric rotor.
The main advantages of this invention and which is a significant improvement over all motorized pistols that incorporate an electric rotor and helical transmission system with the ability to turn in both directions, with the double function of dosing and kneading, is, first, that the Conveyor of helical type, without solid core along its axis of rotation, improves the continuous work of the gun without obstructions in the outlet nozzle, with a bead of putty always constant and homogeneous, and, second, that the assembly formed by the manganese steel conveyor and the polyethylene sheath of the cylindrical body, solves a technical problem raised; the lack of durability of the previous pistols due to abrasion and wear problems.
In this way, not only the current procedure for the application of fluid materials for the sealing of joints based on manual guns is automated, with the possibility of working with a continuous and constant flow of mortar through the nozzle, to obtain a cord or layer of more homogeneous and uniform sealing material, but also the undesired obstructions in the nozzle are avoided and the costs derived from the maintenance and periodic replacement of these guns are remarkably reduced.
For the better understanding of the present motorized gun applicable to the invented joint seal, there is attached, as Figure 1, an illustrative drawing in lateral section of its component elements, among which the outlet nozzle (1), the generator set power (7), the cylindrical body in the form of inverted T (4) with its three threaded ends, (2), (6) and (9), for coupling with the nozzle, the electric motor and the filling mouth of fluid material respectively, the polyethylene jacket (5) that internally wraps the cylindrical body, the hollow helical conveyor (8) for dosing and kneading, which attached to the electric motor rotor, rotates at will in both directions through the interior of the cylindrical body , and the conical piece (3) of the front part of the conveyor that increases the fluid outlet pressure.
EXECUTION MODE. -
As shown in Figure 1, the presented gun is provided with a handle in which is located the switch (10) that drives the electric motor rotor (7), on whose axis the helical conveyor is embedded ( 8), which can rotate in both directions jointly to the rotor, depending on the position adopted by the switch.
The switch (10) has three positions; in the rest position (position one) there is no effect on the gun, which only starts when it is pressed by its upper part (position two) or by its lower part (position three), stopping when it is released, thanks to an electric braking device. As long as the switch is pressed on its upper side, that is, it is held in position two, the electric rotor and, therefore, the helical conveyor, rotates in one direction, and keeping it pressed on its lower side, the rotor and the conveyor rotates in the opposite direction. In this way the gun fulfills its double functionality of, on the one hand, kneading and homogenizing the fluid putty inside the cylindrical body and, on the other hand, pushing this putty towards its expulsion by the nozzle, to apply it in the sealing of together
The power supply of the power generator of the gun can be the electrical network, by cable, but in order to make it more manageable and usable in any place, the gun has at the base of the handle a slots for the coupling of a rechargeable battery, which has ribs that lock into these grooves and block it solidly attached to the machine.
Within the cylindrical body and adapting to its inner diameter, is a shirt (5) made of polyethylene to preserve the body from the wear to which it could be subjected by the helical conveyor in its turning movement, which is made of steel manganese, high resistance to abrasion.
The dimensions of the opening of the nozzle are determined by the thickness of the sealing layer or bead that needs to be applied. Due to the conical shape of the nozzle, it will be cut at will with a section that guarantees the proper thickness for the seal to be sealed.
The way in which the pistol thus designed works is the following:
First, the gun must be filled through the upper mouth of the sealing material until it has reached the inner cavity of the cylindrical body. This done, it suffices to press the switch on its upper side to cause the helicoidal electric rotor-conveyor assembly to rotate counter-clockwise, which results in the kneading and homogenization of the fluid material inside the cylindrical body. Then, achieved the degree of convenient homogenization, it is passed to press the switch at its bottom, inverting the direction of rotation of the helical conveyor, which moves the putty along the cylindrical body towards the nozzle, expelling it to the outside.
At the moment when the material begins to be expelled by the nozzle, the gun is directed towards the working area, and the putty is applied to the surfaces that are to be sealed.
Once the invention is described, with its components referenced to the drawings with sufficient clarity to effect its production and start-up, it is declared as new and of its own invention, except that its details, shape, size, materials, procedures of manufacture and applications, may be modified with respect to what is described and represented in this report, always within the undisturbed essence that is summarized in the following:
