Description

DEVICE FOR THE PROTECTION OF THE BODY OF A VEHICLE DESCRIPTION OF THE INVENTION The invention relates to a device for protecting a body of a motor vehicle, suitable in particular to be applied externally in that motor vehicle to obtain its covering. This makes it possible to protect the motor vehicle from harmful weather events, such as violent rains and sunrays during the summer period and severe and intense cold in winter, which leads to the formation of ice on the bodywork, the windshield and the back window. The protection of polluting agents is also achieved, such as smog, harmful to the body or paint of the motor vehicle. As is well known in the state of the art, to protect a body of a motor vehicle from very dangerous weather phenomena, such as hail or sun rays during the hottest months of the year, or from aggressive pollutants, such as smog produced in large industrial areas, the motor vehicle is protected in a garage, consisting for example of a room belonging to a house building or a prefabricated building, or under a car shed, Ref .: 172473 for example in a parking lot of the workplace. However it often happens that the user is unable to park the motor vehicle protected from bad weather, especially if he lives in the center of a town, where the covered booths near his own home are insufficient, or if the company in the which works does not have a covered parking. This situation also occurs in those cases in which the user leaves his own car parked in a public parking lot for a long time. In all the aforementioned situations, the motor vehicle can be protected only by having available only an ordinary fabric which, in case of unexpected violent precipitation, such as hail, is left on the motor vehicle. This is obviously a temporary solution, which also causes a not very pleasant aesthetic impact, and consequently frequently does not take place. On the other hand, panels with bellows structure are available, allowing to protect from the sun's rays, especially in the hot season, at least the instrument panel of the motor vehicle. However, these honeycombs can only be placed inside the car, between the inner surface of the windshield and the instrument panel, and leave said car unprotected with respect to the aforementioned phenomena, meteorological and polluting agents. For the reasons mentioned above, it is therefore evident that the motor vehicle is frequently at the mercy of unpredictable weather phenomena and pollutants, with all the drawbacks involved. WO 94/25303 shows a device for protecting a motor vehicle body, provided with a container that houses a roller therein, around which a fabric used to cover the motor vehicle is wound. The aforementioned protection device has some limitations. The first limitation is due to the fact that it is not provided with a practical fabric cleaning system. This cleaning is essential, because weather phenomena, dust or polluting agents cause the worsening of the cleaning condition of the upper surface of the fabric. Furthermore, in the prior art, and in particular in the cited technique closest to the invention that is known herein described, it is not evident that the fabric, when covering the body of the motor vehicle, is usable as a supporting surface of graphic symbols that are clearly visible to people, for advertising, identification or decoration purposes. The present invention aims to overcome the aforementioned drawbacks. In particular, the main object of the invention is to provide a motor vehicle body protection device which allows to clean the fabric, without requiring the intervention of the user, during the opening and closing stages of that fabric. A second object of the invention is to provide a motor vehicle body protection device that is easy to handle. Another object is to provide a device that is quickly and easily applicable by any user of a motor vehicle. It is also an object of the invention to provide a motor vehicle protective device which is suitable for use against critical weather phenomena in any season and against different pollutants. A no less important object is the provision of a device, which in addition to protecting a motor vehicle body, is usable at the same time for advertising, identification or decoration purposes, without requiring the use of substantially fixed means such as labels. self-adhesive, spraying colors, shavings or the like, currently used to associate advertising graphic symbols with the motor vehicle. Said objects are obtained by means of a device for protecting a motor vehicle body which, according to the main claim, comprises: at least one flexible laminar element, capable of being deployed on the cover of the motor vehicle; at least one casing structure developed mainly longitudinally, capable of containing the laminar element when it is in inoperative conditions, provided with: connecting means to the motor vehicle; at least one longitudinal groove for the passage of that sheet from the inside to the outside of the shell structure, and vice versa; handling means, coupled with the web and available to the user, for removing the web from the casing structure and for positioning it to cover the motor vehicle; - hooking means, coupled with the handling means, capable of connecting the unfolded laminar element to the motor vehicle, which is characterized by comprising cleaning means, coupled with the shell structure in the longitudinal groove, capable of removing the impurities of the laminar element during its movement. It is also an object of the present invention a flexible and rolling surface comprising one or more writings, drawings, types, symbols, distinctive signs, logos and the like which, in accordance with the related main claim, is characterized in that it consists of at least a laminar element belonging to the device according to claim 1. Advantageously, the device of the invention is easy to manufacture and is practically and easily applicable to the motor vehicle by any user. More advantageously, the invention allows the owner of a vehicle to externally protect the body or paint of his motor vehicle from any harmful meteorological phenomenon or polluting agent. Still advantageously, the device of the invention is extremely easily transportable because, under inoperative conditions, it has a reduced load and weight with respect to the prior art described above. Furthermore, it can be arranged in a very easy way, for example in the boot of a motor vehicle, being always available to the user, who can therefore use it at any time and in any place, even in the event that a sudden intense precipitation, such as a hailstorm.
In addition, the invention makes a new medium available for advertising, identification or decoration purposes, consisting of a fabric belonging to a removable cover structure coupled with the bodywork of the motor vehicle. The objects and advantages mentioned above will be better distinguished in the description of the preferred embodiments of the invention, given in explanatory form, with reference to the appended figures, wherein: Figure 1 is an axonometric view of a motor vehicle provided with the device of the invention; Figure 2 is an axonometric view of an amplified detail of Figure 1, with the device of the invention in inoperative conditions; Figure 3 is a cross-sectional view of the device. Figure 2; Figure 4 is a partial sectioned axonometric view of the device of Figure 2; Figure 4a is an axonometric view of an amplified detail of Figure 4; Figure 5 is an axonometric view of the device of Figure 2, in closed conditions; Figure 6 is an axonometric view of a different executive mode of the device of Figure 2; Figure 7 is a side view of the device of Figure 6; Figure 8 is an axonometric view of a first executive mode of the device of Figure 2; Figure 9 is an axonometric view of a second executive mode of the device of Figure 2; Figures 9 to 13 are axonometric views of different executive embodiments of the device of the invention; Figure 14 is a side view of another executive embodiment of the device of the invention; and Figures 15 and 16 are top views of additional executive embodiments of the device of the invention. The device of the invention is shown under operating conditions in figure 1, where it is generally indicated with the number 1, arranged to protect the body C of a motor vehicle, indicated generally with Ai. As can be seen, the device 1 comprises two flexible laminar elements, indicated generally with the numbers 2 and 3, which are deployed to cover the motor vehicle Ai. In particular, the web 2 covers the front portion, while the web 3 covers the rear portion of the motor vehicle i. The device 1 comprises a casing structure developed mainly longitudinally, indicated generally with the number 4, which contains the laminar elements 2, 3 when they are in inoperative conditions. The shell structure 4 is provided with: connection means, indicated generally with the number 5, to the motor vehicle i; - two longitudinal slots, of which only one is shown, indicated with the number 9, allowing the passage of the laminar elements 2, 3 from the interior to the exterior of the casing structure 4, and vice versa. It is noted that the web 2 passes through the longitudinal slot 9. Therefore the device 1 comprises handling means, indicated generally with the number 6, coupled with the laminar elements 2, 3 and available to the user, for example the owner of the motor vehicle Ai, the handling means 6 are operated to extract the web elements 2, 3 from opposite sides of the shell structure 4, and to arrange them to cover the motor vehicle Ai in the manner shown in the figure 1. As evidenced in the same figure, the device 1 additionally comprises hooking means, indicated generally with the number 7, coupled with the handling means 6, which join the two laminar elements 2, 3 to the motor vehicle Ai when they are fully deployed. More particularly, Figure 2 shows that the handling means consist of a tubular element 28, coupled with the free end 2a of the web 2 and provided internally with an elastic wire 29, at its ends 29a19b the fastening elements 7, which in turn consist of hooks 32, 33 are applied, which, as seen in figure 1, are attached to the steps for the wheels R when the sheet element 2 has to be placed to cover the front portion of the motor vehicle Ai. Those previously explained for the web 2 are also applicable for the web 3, which protects the rear portion of the motor vehicle Ai and whose handling means 6, visible in figure 3, consist of the tubular element 30 provided internally with the elastic wire 31, while the hooking means 7, for simplicity of exposition, are not shown in the subsequent figures. In additional specific embodiments, the latching means could be of different type, for example magnetic elements to be placed close to the body of the motor vehicle to keep the laminar element stretched. In relation to the shell structure 4, Figure 2 shows that it consists of a cover 8 having a cross-section profile of essentially elliptical shape, to prevent dust and impurities from depositing on the external surface 4a of the shell structure 4 .
In Figure 3 the construction of the cover 8 is better highlighted, consisting of two shell halves 81, 82 obtained by extrusion of laminated aluminum and placed next to one another in the longitudinal symmetry axis Z of the structure of Wrapped 4. In accordance with other embodiments of the invention, the cover could be made of PVC or carbon fiber, just to mention some of the materials preferably used for this component. With reference to the laminar elements 2, 3, figures 2 and 3 show that each of them has an end fixed to a support element, indicated in general with the numerals 10, 11 arranged inside the casing structure 4, and developed according to the longitudinal symmetry axis Z of the shell structure 4 for a length substantially equal to the length of the longitudinal groove previously indicated with the number 9. In this specific case, the support element 10, 11 consists of a cylinder of winding 12, 13 around which the respective web element 2,3 is wound or unwound during the operation of releasing the covering position of the motor vehicle Ax or the tensioning operation of the closed position. The laminar elements 2, 3 consist respectively of a fabric with upward movement 14, 15 of known type for carrying out the covering of surfaces to protect vehicles, people or other from meteorological phenomena, such as for example intense solar rays and downpours. Preferably the upwardly moving fabric 14, 15 has a thickness of approximately 1.5 mm and is made of PVC laminated with a silver-colored polyethylene terephthalate (PET) film. This allows the upwardly moving fabric 14, 15 to withstand high temperatures of the order of 80 ° C during the hottest seasons, since the material has a high coefficient of deflection and a low degree of reflection of the sun's rays. According to the invention, the device 1 comprises cleaning means, indicated in general with the number 25, coupled with the shell structure 4 in the longitudinal groove of the type indicated with the number 9, which performs its function during movement, that is, the opening and closing of the laminar elements 2, 3, removes the impurities deposited on them when they are deployed on the motor vehicle Ax, as shown in figures 3 and 4 in the amplification of figure 4. cleaning means 25 are applied to a support bar 26 connected to the inner surface 4c of the shell structure 4 through attachment means, not shown but consisting, for example, of adhesive substances. Preferably but not necessarily, the cleaning means 25 consist of a strip of woven wires 27, soaked with silicone to minimize the passage of light, to resist temperature variations and to make that strip waterproof. In figures 3 and 4 it can be seen that the device 1 of the invention comprises elastic means, indicated in general with the number 16, arranged inside the shell structure 4, which maintain the web elements 2, 3 in tension. The elastic means 16 are placed at the end 4b of the shell structure 4, but it is evident that, in other embodiments, they could also be provided at the opposite end of that structure. In figure 4 it is shown that the shell structure 4 is provided with a pair of shaped brackets, of which only one, indicated with the number 17, is visible, each coupled laterally with the shell structure 4 through means of union of known type, not shown here, for example screws. As can be seen in Figure 5 below, but also in Figure 2, each of the above-mentioned shaped brackets is provided externally with a cover 18, 19 made of PVC, which are arranged to laterally cover the shell structure 4 to give it a homogeneous aesthetic appearance. In accordance with the preferred executive mode described herein. The connection means 5 shown in section in figure 3 and in axonometric view in figures 4 and 5, comprise a pair of magnets 20, 21 coupled to the roof i of the motor vehicle Ai and connected through fixing means, indicated in general with the number 22, to the external surface 4a of the shell structure 4. The first fixing means 22 are composed of screws (not shown in the figures) that rigidly couple the magnets 20, 21 with support elements 23, 24 of the shell structure 4, arranged close to each other and substantially U-shaped, with their lateral ends longer than the central ends brought together to define a concave surface which is adapted to the convexity of the other surface 4a of the shell structure 4. In figure 6 another executive embodiment of the invention is shown, in which the device, now indicated in general with the number 100, differs from that described with reference to the Figures 1 to 5 because the connection means, indicated generally with the number 103, comprise two flexible bands 104, 105, preferably made of rubber, coupled with the shell structure, indicated generally with the number 102, and joined in a form stable but removable to the upper upright M2 of the respective door P2 of the motor vehicle A2. The connecting means 103 also comprises a pair of support pads 106, 107 preferably made of rubber, coupled with the roof T2 of the motor vehicle A2, on which the external surface l02a of the shell structure 102 is placed. Figure 7 highlights the flexible band 104 and its connection to the shell structure 102, which is made stable by the application of the formed bracket 108 to the shell structure 102 through the attachment means 109, consisting for example of screws Preferably but not necessarily, the sheet element 101, illustrated in inoperative conditions in Figure 6, consists of a PTC (acronym for "Material of Positive Temperature Coefficient") or an aluminum foil, and is therefore suitable for use in the winter season to protect the A2 motor vehicle from the ice. In this case, the sheet element 101 is provided with a heating system (not shown in the figures) of known type, consisting for example of a metallic structure of small tubes containing antifreeze fluid. The heating system is coupled with power means (also not shown in the figures) preferably consists of a rechargeable battery. The heating fluid could be activated either by pressing a button inside the motor vehicle A2 and by the use of a remote control. Figure 8 shows a further executive embodiment of the invention, in which the device, indicated generally with the number 200, still differs from those already described for the connection means, indicated generally with the number 203. In this In this case, they can comprise a hollow body 204, connected through the second fixing means, not shown in the figures but consisting again of two screws, to the external surface 202a of the shell structure, indicated generally with the number 202, to define a space 205 in which two shaped bars are inserted from opposite sides, of which only one is visible in figure 8, indicated with the number 206. Each shaped bar has one end, indicated with number 206a for the bar formed 206, fixed rigidly to the respective vertical mullion M3 of the motor vehicle A3, carrying out in this way a stable and almost non-removable coupling of the device 200, of m It is different from the devices 1 and 100 which are coupled in an easily removable form to the respective motor vehicle Ai, Aa. Finally, in figure 9 another specific embodiment of the invention is shown, in which the device, indicated in general with the number 300, differs from those described above because in each of the laminar elements, indicated generally with the numbers 301 and 302 respectively, consists of a foldable fabric 305, 306 respectively, with a bellows configuration. According to the preferred executive embodiment described herein, the support element, indicated with the number 304, consists of the internal surface 303c of the shell structure, indicated generally with the number 303, to which the webs 301 are connected, 302 in accordance with known methods. Operatively, the user applies the device 1 of figure 1 to the motor vehicle Ai, anchoring the magnets 20, 21, previously fixed to the casing structure 4, on the roof Ta. In inoperative conditions, the device 1 appears as shown in figure 5, with the hooks 32, 33 mutually coupled in the intermediate region of the shell structure 4.
In the case of critical weather conditions, such as scorching sun, the user releases the hooks 32, 22 from their mutual coupling, holds the tubular element 28 and exerts traction on it, until the web 2 is placed on the front portion of the tubular element. the body C of the motor vehicle i. Once the sheet element 2 is unwound from the winding cylinder 12 over its entire length, the user secures it in the position reached, hooks 32, 33 engaging with the steps for the wheels R of the motor vehicle.
Ai. The same happens for the laminar element 3, which is placed to cover the rear part of the motor vehicle. The r and is maintained stable there by the engagement of the means of engagement with the steps for rear wheels R. In such situations, the device 1 is able to protect the body C of the motor vehicle Ai, protecting its external integrity, the action of the sun's rays, or even other harmful meteorological phenomena, such as hail, very frequent also in the summer period. When the protection of the motor vehicle Ax is no longer necessary, the user unhooks the hooks 32, 33 from the wheel passes R and, by releasing the grip on the tubular element 28, allows the elastic means 16 to pull the webs 2 3, inside the casing structure 4. When it wishes to carry out an accurate cleaning of the laminar elements 2, 3, the user holds the tubular element 28 and accompanies its winding movement, opposite to the folding force of the elastic means 16. , in such a way that the cleaning means 25 removes the impurities from the fabrics 14, 15. In the case of the device 100, of Figure 6, the user, after supporting the shell structure 102 on the support pads 106, 107, couples the strips 104, 105 internally to the upper uprights M2 of the respective door P2 of the motor vehicle A in such a way that, when the door P2 is closed, the device 100 is sufficiently secured to the motor vehicle A2. This constructive solution is appropriate when the device 100 has to be applied very quickly, especially in urgent situations such as the unexpected arrival of a summer storm, with the A2 motor vehicle parked in a public parking lot. On the contrary, the embodiment of figure 8 is more suitable for those cases in which the device 200 has to be mounted definitively on the motor vehicle A3, using a fixing means of the type known as for example screws, for securing the device 200 to the upright M3 of the motor vehicle A3. The embodiment of figure 9 provides that the removal of the laminar elements 301, 302 from the shell structure 303, are placed to cover the motor vehicle A4 in the same manner as with that described for the device 1. To place the webs 301, 302 back into the shell structure 303, the user would only fold the respective fabrics 306, 307 according to the bellows configuration, the elastic tensioning means present in the other embodiments not being provided in this case. Therefore, the device of the invention makes it possible to carry out the cleaning of the laminar elements in a practical and automatic way, that is to say whenever they are extracted or returned to the shell structure applied to the bodywork of a motor vehicle, without an intervention real user. Consequently, during the subsequent uses, the laminar elements belonging to the device of the invention have a better cleaning condition with respect to those provided by equivalent devices of known type, with the obvious advantages that this involves in aesthetic terms. The device effectively protects the external part of the motor vehicle body of any weather phenomenon, like hail or solar rays in the summer period and ice in the winter period, or the action of pollutants, such as smog. The protection of the automobile is provided at any time of the year, in any place and in any weather condition. Due to its reduced load, the device of the invention can be arranged practically inside the car, for example in the trunk. This allows the user to have immediately available the device, and to face effectively unpleasant situations, such as the arrival of a hail, even when not in unguarded places. The device of the invention can be mounted easily on the motor vehicle, preferably in the intermediate zone of the roof of the vehicle. However, in accordance with other specific embodiments of the invention, shown in Figures 10 and 11, the shell structure 400 and the connecting means could be respectively coupled with the bonnet F or the boot B of the motor vehicle. In accordance with other executive embodiments, shown in Figures 12 and 13, the shell structure 500 and the related connection means could be coupled with the front bumper Ua and / or the rear bumper Up of the motor vehicle. In such a case, the flexible web will be pulled respectively towards the front of the rear part of the motor vehicle, to be placed to protect it, and obviously will have an appropriate length. In addition, in other embodiments, as evidenced in Figure 14, the shell structure 500 could be housed in one or more spaces Vi, V2 obtained on the roof of the motor vehicle. It is still evident that, in further executive embodiments of the invention, shown in Figures 15 and 16, the latching means 7 could be attached to the front bumper Ua and / or the rear bumper Up, or to the side mirrors S of the motor vehicle of according to the degree of protection that is provided to that motor vehicle. Such figures show yet another peculiarity of the invention described here which refers, as mentioned above, still to a flexible and rolling surface comprising writings, drawings, types, symbols, distinctive signs, logos and the like, indicated with D, used for advertising purposes. The flexible surface consists of the flexible laminar elements 2, 3 placed inside the shell structure 4 coupled with the body C of the motor vehicle Ai deployed to cover the body C. Obviously, on the outer surface of the flexible laminar elements, but also types, drawings, writings, distinctive signs or logos could be printed on the wrapping structure for both advertising and identification purposes, such as the plate number of the car itself, or for decorative purposes, with drawings, photographs or special colors . It is immediately evident that the advantage produced by the use of at least one fabric of the device of the invention, for example as an advertising surface. In fact, in this case a payment could be provided to the user of the device by the company that owns the advertising. On the other hand, the device could be provided free of charge by the advertising provider. Based on the aforementioned description, it will be understood that the device for protecting a motor vehicle body according to the invention achieves all the objects and achieves all the advantages mentioned above. Modifications could be introduced to the device of the invention in the production stage, providing for example a single cloth, coupled with the shell structure to cover the motor vehicle, as can be seen in figures 10 to 14.
In other executive embodiments, the device of the invention could comprise a different number of shell structures, for example two. In addition, both the flexible laminar element and the shell structure could be manufactured in any color, allowing the producer to differentiate and change the aesthetic aspects at will. For example, the color of the device could be combined with the body color of the motor vehicle, to give a pleasant overall aesthetic impact. The device of the invention could be manufactured in various sizes, to allow its application in different models of motor vehicles. In addition, in other embodiments, the shape of the shell structure could be different from that described above, without reducing the advantage provided by the present patent. All the modalities described and cited, even when not shown in the appended figures, when they fall within the scope of protection of the following claims, shall be considered as protected by this patent. It is noted that in relation to this date, the best method known by the applicant to carry out the aforementioned invention, is the conventional one for the manufacture of the objects to which it relates.
