Description

CONTAINER COVER FIELD OF THE INVENTION The invention relates to a thermoformed plastic container lid substantially comprising a sheet-like lid body having a sloping edge (1) which extends around the entire periphery of the lid body, the edge (1) is suitable for coupling with the peripheral portion of a plastic open surface container, comprising a lid edge (2) at a position near the periphery of the lid body, which divides the lid body into a container. centrally located mirror (3) and an external part (4) on the other side of the lid edge (2). Such a container lid is also known as a two-step container lid (see figure 1.), in comparison to a one-stage container lid (see figure 2), in which the edge (21) engages with BACKGROUND OF THE INVENTION A two-step container lid as described in the preamble of claim 1 is known from document DE29910076U 1. A two-step container lid can be used in situations where the container is covered. With a cover plate, while the lid of a step can not be done, the reason is that the mirror of the two-step cover is on the same level as the upper edge REF 169262 of the container and the sheet. One-step container lid can not be used in combination with a sheet at the edge level of the container, since the mirror on the top of one step will be at a level below the level of the sheet. It is known that, after the initial opening, when the user wishes to close the container again, the upper edge of the container can fall into the slit (8) of the edge of the lid (2), after the which the container can not be closed. This problem of reclosing occurs especially when the user wishes to close the container again using one hand, and presses the lid on the container from one side to the other. It is therefore an object of the invention to avoid the above problem of reclosing. BRIEF DESCRIPTION OF THE INVENTION This object is achieved according to the invention, wherein the edge of the lid (2) comprises one or more bridges (5) connecting the mirror (3) and the external part (4). The bridge or bridges (5) will cause the lid to slide over the container edge until the container edge is taken by the edge (1), making it impossible for the container edge to enter the slit (8) of the edge of the container. cover (2). A further advantage of the invention is that the bridges (5) reduce or even avoid the problem of grouping the lids when they are stacked and put under pressure, for example in a production line. In thermoforming, a sheet of heat-softened plastic is formed in or around a mold. This formation stage can be supported by vacuum, air pressure, and the distribution of the material can be improved by the aid of a plug. There are three main groups of thermoforming: vacuum formation, pressure formation and equalization mold formation. The material of the lid and the container can be any known material for this use. Examples of possible materials are HDPE (high density polyethylene), LDPE (low density polyethylene), PP (polypropylene), PET (polyester terephthalate), PVC (polyvinyl chloride), OPVC (PVC oriented), PC (polycarbonate), EVOH (Ethylene vinyl alcohol) and multilayer materials of two or more of these polymers. The shape of the lid of the container can be of any shape, for example, round, rectangular rounded, oval or square. The edge (1) is preferably provided with toothed features (7) see figure 4. These toothed features (7) fix the lid on the container when closed. In a preferred embodiment, one or more bridges (5) are in the same plane as the mirror (3). In another preferred embodiment, the lid edge (2) comprises four or more bridges (5). Four bridges (5) can already be effective if they are placed on each side of a square or rectangular container lid. Preferably the container lid comprises six or more bridges (5) and the bridges (5) are preferably evenly distributed around the periphery of the lid. Another preferred embodiment of the invention is shown in Figure 5, which shows the cross section of the two preferred caps in the location of a bridge. In this preferred embodiment, the bridge is a partial bridge consisting of two parts of the bridge (9, 10), each part of the bridge (9, 10) being a toothing of a side wall of the edge of the cover (2). Preferably, the toothing is formed by placing part of the side wall at a negative angle, compared to the side wall at a location where there is no bridge, as shown in Figure 5. The advantage of this construction is that it is no longer it is possible for the container edge to enter into the slit (8) of the lid edge (2) and that the compressive strength of the stack is very high, because a load in the stack is effectively transferred to lower covers, through of the bridge parts (9, 10). The number of bridges can be easily determined by the expert who takes into consideration the size and shape of the container lid. A large container lid will need more bridges than a small container lid. In another preferred embodiment, the container lid comprises an unequal number of bridges (5) evenly distributed around the periphery of the lid. This improves the bending force of the lid, compared to the same lid with a uniform number of bridges evenly distributed around the periphery of the lid. Preferably, the width of the bridges (5) is 3 mm or more.
The width should be such that the bridge does not break when a commonly used pressure is applied to close the container. The characteristics of the preferred embodiments described above can be applied as such or in combination with each other. The lid and the container can be used for packaging consumer items, such as for example food, such as for example margarines or spreads.
