Abstract

The invention relates to a highly sulfate-resistant Portland cement useful for oil wells, which have a useful life of up to 20 years in normal service conditions and which contains 4 % molybdenum dioxide. The inventive cement is characterised in that it has a fineness of more than 3700 cm2/g. The invention is also characterised in that the cement has a minimum strength of 740 psi at 100 DEG F for 8 hours from the moment of setting and in that the cement has a minimum strength of 2000 psi at 140 DEG F after 8 hours from setting, without the addition of any additives, which enables the water reduction necessary in order to achieve a pre-determined slump. The purpose of the present invention is to protect chemical technology useful for manufacturing Portland cement, thus not only regarding quarry mechanical problems, materials, machinery projects, or energy or fuel savings.
