Abstract
Un interruptor de circuito de falla de arco incluye terminales de linea y de carga, contactos separables, un sensor de corriente que detecta la corriente que fluye entre las terminales y asociado con un tipo de carga, y un primer circuito de deteccion de falla de arco generando una primera senal de disparo que responde a la corriente detectada. Un segundo circuito de deteccion de falla de arco recolecta una pluralidad de muestras de corriente detectadas para un ciclo de linea actual y tambien para un ciclo de linea previo, determina un valor total de corriente a partir de una corriente pico de las muestras de corriente de ciclo de linea, emplea el valor total de corriente y algunas de las muestras para determinar el tipo de carga, y genera una segunda senal de disparo en respuesta a la corriente detectada y el tipo de carga determinado. Un circuito de disparo genera una tercera senal de disparo en respuesta a las senales de disparo primera y segunda. Un mecanismo operador abre los contactos en respuesta a la tercera senal.
