Abstract
The present invention refers to an Emergency Foldable Triangle having substantially novel and quick opening and foldable mechanisms, which consist in a flat and flexible steel rod fold that allows a bright fabric mesh containing a high reflective flexible tape to be displayed while said fold is in an open position, thus forming the present emergency triangle. The purpose of the present invention is to facilitate the location, use and storage of said emergency element, thereby contributing to the users'safety, and enhancing the automotive industry, since the inner space of automobiles is better used and designed.
Description
Folding Emergency Triangle
BACKGROUND OF THE INVENTION In the automotive industry, the traditional emergency triangle has existed for a long time and has not undergone major modifications since its appearance.
This triangle, apart from being difficult and difficult to keep in the trunk of the car, is complicated to assemble and even more to disarm. This explains why so few people and less often is used, even in the worst emergency situations. Taking this as a frame of reference, we thought about how useful it would be to have a triangle that was compact, easy to use, easy to store and that would reduce complications in its use and application. With this in mind; This emergency triangle was created by combining the idea of the mechanism of the well-known black mesh parasol for automotive windows by adding high reflective tape. By means of this application it is intended to protect the invention of this novel folding triangle presented here for its immediate manufacture and commercialization.
Description of the invention
The characteristic details of this novel folding triangle are clearly shown in the following description and in the accompanying drawings. Figure 1 is a perspective of the triangle in its open form as it will be used at the time of the emergency or at any other time. Figure 2 shows, in cross section, the detail of the mechanism and the manner in which some elements are arranged.
Figure 3 shows the transitory procedure for its storage or folding. Figure 4 indicates the shape in which the triangle is completely folded and ready to be stored. In reference to said figures, the triangle is formed by the following main elements: a) A flexible steel frame of flat shape (No 1) that gives the shape to the triangle, and that is in tension in its open position, such and as seen in Fig. 1. b) A brightly colored cloth mesh (No 2) enclosing the steel frame No 1. c) High reflective flexible tape (No 3) sewn to the cloth mesh and which forms a triangle. d) Box (No 4) of plastic or metal to contain the folded triangle in its closed position, as shown in Fig. 4. This box, open, also serves as a base to hold the triangle in its open position as shown in Fig. 1 e) Two magnets (No 5) placed inside the box and that have double function: one is to provide enough weight to prevent the triangle from being dragged by the wind; and the other, to allow its magnetic attraction to metal surfaces (eg a vehicle). f) Protective surface (No 6) in the lower part of the bases (Nos. 4- A and 4-B) that will help to avoid mistreating delicate surfaces (eg automotive paint) and, at the same time, avoid sliding on the pavement. In its open form (Fig. 1), the triangle will remain in the shape shown, thanks to a simple hinge mechanism (No 7) and spring (No 8), shown in Fig. 2, where the two bases they press together the tongue (No 9) of the flexible steel frame (No 1), thus allowing the triangle to retain its vertical shape.
The own weight of the magnets and the spring act in a combined way exerting pressure against each other and in opposite directions, so as not to allow the steel frame (in the form of a triangle) to fall. The way to store (or fold) the triangle is by twisting the steel frame, see Fig. 3, from its highest central part to one of its sides. This is done by rotating 360 ° simultaneously, helically and vertically descending, trying to form a small circle with the same steel rod. Once the triangle is folded, we proceed to close the box No 4 to finish as shown in Fig. 4 Because of its easy and quick way to open this triangle, and its peculiar way of folding it, they constitute by themselves the novelty of this invention. The small size is striking, which once folded is almost the same size as a compact disc.
Claims (1)
1. Folding Emergency Triangle that is characterized by having a flat flexible steel frame forming a triangle (or any other form) and that, in its open form and staying in tension, allows the deployment of a brightly colored cloth mesh; and sewn thereto, flexible tape of high reflection configured in such a way as to form a triangle, object of this invention. It has two bases that contain a magnet each and that allow its magnetic attraction to metal surfaces and, at the same time, counterweight. The combined system in the spring hinge of the bases and the counterweight of the magnets press together a tongue that forms part of the same flat flexible steel frame and keep the triangle vertically in its open form. The way to save the triangle is by flexing and folding the flexible frame into a downward helical shape trying to reconfigure its original triangular shape to a new smaller round shape. The bases are used as a case in its folded form.
