Abstract

La invencion se refiera a materiales y metodos utiles para controlar la propagacion no deseada de rasgos transgenicos. Los metodos incluyen una hembra esteril-macho que contiene un transgen para un rasgo deseado y un transgen que origina la infertilidad de semilla. Los metodos tambien incluyen una planta fertil-macho que lleva un activador de transcripcion que activa la expresion de ambos transgenes llevados por la hebra esteril-macho. La polinizacion de la hembra esteril-macho por una planta fertil-macho activa la expresion de ambos trasngenes en la hembra. Las semillas resultantes expresan el producto de gen del rasgo deseado y son infertiles.
