Abstract

The invention relates to a multi-ply sound-proofing and thermal insulation part (1), in particular for motor vehicles, comprising at least one three-dimensionally structured foamed plastic layer (2), which has a plurality of elevations (4) and/or recesses (5), and at least one non-woven layer (3) lying adjacent to said plastic layer. The aim of the invention is to produce a lightweight insulation part of this type in a cost-effective manner. To achieve this, the non-woven layer (3) is tacked onto the foamed plastic layer (2), in such a way that the non-woven layer follows the contours of the foamed plastic layer and the elevations (4) and/or recesses (5) of the foamed plastic layer (2) are also pronounced in the surface of the non-woven layer (3) facing away from the plastic layer. The composite of the non-woven layer and foamed plastic layer of the insulation part is thus produced without adhesive, saving the cost of said adhesive and reducing the weight of the insulation part accordingly.
