Abstract
La presente invencion se refiere a un sistema y aparato para asignar un paquete de control secuencial (en una serie secuencial) a un grupo de paquetes de programas que cumplen con el formato MPEG-2, para la recuperacion de errores de un objeto de medios. La invencion divide el objeto de medios en una serie de paquetes de programa (204, 206) para ser transmitidos a traves de una corriente de transporte. Despues se inserta un paquete de control (202) en la corriente de transporte de manera que corresponda a una cantidad de paquetes de programa, en donde un contador (220) del paquete de control (202) se numera secuencialmente. Un paquete de control adicional (210) se intercala en la corriente de transporte despues de que se divide una segunda cantidad de paquete de programa. Opcionalmente, los paquetes de control son recibidos por un aparato receptor que emite una instruccion en respuesta a la falta de un paquete de control cuando existe un faltante en la numeracion secuencial de los paquetes de control recibidos.
