Abstract
La invencion se refiere a un dispositivo y a un procedimiento para transmitir una pluralidad de senales orientada en paquetes en redes, en especial para la conmutacion y enrutado en las redes, con una pluralidad de unidades de puerto que abarcan uno o varios puertos, pudiendo los puertos conectarse a las redes, con una unidad de transmision, que preferentemente posee la funcion de un conmutador cruzado, y cuando menos una primera unidad de protocolo que analiza por lo menos un parte de las senales y determina su destino, estando disponibles una pluralidad de otras unidades de protocolo, que estan asignadas directamente a las unidades de puerto y clasifican a las senales de acuerdo con su protocolo de transmision, para dependiendo del protocolo de transmision aceptar individualmente el procesamiento de un protocolo de una parte de los paquetes y transferir el procesamiento de protocolo de otra parte de los paquetes a la primera unidad de protocolo.
