Abstract
Un sistema determina si un canal de paginacion primario debera ser recibido sobre la base de un examen de un canal de paginacion rapida. Se determina un primer simbolo QPCH (102) y se determina la energia piloto normalizada (104). Si la energia piloto normalizada es superior a un primer umbral (106) se desmodula el primer simbolo y se determina la relacion de simbolo QPCH a energia piloto (110) y se compara contra otro umbral (114). Si la energia piloto normalizada es inferior al primer umbral, el sistema procede al segundo simbolo QPCH inmediatamente. Sobre la base de dos comparaciones, se examina una segunda senal QPCH (108) o el sistema duerme (116). Si es examinada la segunda senal, y si la energia piloto normalizada es suficientemente alta, este tambien es desmodulado y se determina la relacion de la suma de simbolos QPCH combinados a la suma de las energias piloto combinadas (122). Si esta relacion excede un umbral (124), es procesado el canal de paginacion primario (120); de otro modo el sistema duerme (116).
