Abstract
Metodo y aparato que usan un esquema de medicion del tiempo a nivel sistema, para remover el temblar de las paquetes multimedia distribuidos sobre una red asincrona, en particular una red Ethernet, La presente invencion resuelve los problemas asociados con el temblor introducido en una red Ethernet, usando diversas marcas de tiempo para sincronizar un reloj del dispositivo cliente con un reloj del final de la cabeza, y para controlar el flujo de datos en el dispositivo cliente para hacer que coincida el rango al que se reciben los datos a traves de un receptor de banda ancha acoplado al final de la cabeza, Una primera marca de tiempo se cuelga previamente a los paquetes de transporte, cuando los paquetes se reciben desde el final de la cabeza, Una segunda marca de tiempo se coloca en el marco de datos cuando el marco de datos es colocado en la red. Una tercera marca de tiempo se coloca en el marco de datos cuando el marco de datos es recibido desde la red. La segunda y la tercera marcas de tiempo se usan para la sincronlzacion del reloj y la primera marca de tiempo se usa para el control del flujo de datos, De acuerdo con la presente invencion, las marcas de tiempo se anaden a la capa fisica de modo que las marcas de tiempo correspondan al tiempo real en el que los paquetes de datos son colocados en, recibidos desde, la red asincrona.
