Abstract

La presente invencion ofrece metodos y aparatos para determinar una velocidad de flujo dentro de una formacion utilizando tecnicas de resonancia magnetica nuclear (RMN) en donde la forma de la region de resonancia es restringida de tal manera que se obtenga la sensibilidad al flujo radial o al flujo vertical (o bien a ambos flujos cuando se utiliza mas que una sola herramienta de RMN). Empleando estas herramientas de RMN, se determina la velocidad de flujo utilizando amplitud de decaimiento, desplazamiento de frecuencia o bien ecos estimulados (en donde los espines estan almacenados a lo largo del campo magnetico en vez del plano transversal para explotar decaimientos de eco y desplazamientos de frecuencia) con base en la aplicacion de pulsos adiabaticos. Con base en la medicion de la velocidad de flujo por RMN descrita, se pueden obtener parametros adicionales de perforacion de pozo, por ejemplo, medicion directa de la permeabilidad, evaluacion del dano por perforacion, presion de la formacion, regimen de invasion del filtrado de lodo o migracion de particulas finas de lodo durante operaciones de muestreo.
