Abstract

El proceso para analizar una res ovina en canal comprende capturar una imagen de la vista dorsal para generar datos de imagen de color para la res en canal (10). Se predeterminan puntos anatomicos (21-24) de la res en canal para posteriormente derivar mediciones de dimensiones para la res en canal. Asimismo se derivan parametros de caracterizacion tales como el rendimiento y el grosor de la grasa de la res en canal mediante el procesamiento de datos de color incluidos en los datos de imagen capturada en conjuncion con las mediciones de dimensiones derivadas. Los datos de colores procesados son los datos de colores para areas de superficie seleccionadas predeterminadas, especialmente las areas de extremidad gruesa, del lomo y de los cuartos delanteros (30 - 32) de la res en canal (10) conocidas o que se ha determinado que tienen una correlacion significativa con el parametro de caracterizacion relacionado con el contenido de grasa. En forma deseable se indentifica la cola (17) de la res en canal y se determina su ancho ya que esto resulta util como una variable en la ecuacion pronosticable de rendimiento de la res en canal. Los datos de color comprenden valores promedio de RGB que representan componentes de color rojo, verde y azul que son valores de color normalizados con respecto a la intensidad.
