Abstract
The present invention discloses a kitchen gas burner comprising a tubular body provided with a plurality of radial grooves for the release of gas, and a deflector barrier radially disposed to, and spaced apart from the gas outlet of each radial groove, comprising: a minimum circumferential extension equal to that of the oulet of a respective radial groove, and which is coupled to the tubular body into a close relationship with the lower outer edge of the respective radial groove outlet by a lower skirt, with at least said minimal circumferential extension, the height of the deflector barrier, and the outlet radial distance of the respective radial groove being dimensioned so as to generate adjacently to a lower portion of a flame produced from the outlet of a respective radial groove, a turbulence in the gas flow enough as to ensure an amount of air and gas mixture at this region that mantains said lower portion of the flame stable.
Description
GAS KITCHEN BURNER
FIELD OF THE INVENTION
The present invention relates to a burner construction of the type mounted on a burner plate of a gas stove.
BACKGROUND OF THE INVENTION
Known gas stoves have, mounted to a cooking hob, burners fed by flammable gas received by a suitable pipe from a gas source. Known burners comprise a tubular body, generally of "T" profile, having a base with a connecting end to a gas supply pipe and a combustion portion resting on the kitchen plate and receiving on one side upper, a flame distributor provided with radial openings in a respective circumferential wall thereof, from which the production of flame takes place when the gas coming from the gas pipe reaches a burner and in this is caused its combustion, for example by spark. The radial openings are angularly separated from each other, so as to keep the flames produced in them individually, avoiding the excess of CO production during the operation. In some burner constructions, the flame produced in each radial opening of the burner presents instability in its portion closer to the burner plate, which allows operation faults and operation with low efficiency. To improve this performance, some constructions have an annular flame stabilizing projection on a circumferential wall portion of the distributor, above the portion thereof provided with the radial openings. Although this solution improves the stability of each flame produced, it exposes the radial projection to a high temperature that can lead to its melting. To avoid the effects of deformation of the burner in this construction, it is necessary to build the burner or at least said annular projection, in material more resistant to high temperatures, which makes the product more expensive.
BRIEF DECRIPTION OF THE INVENTION
It is an object of the present invention to provide a gas burner that improves the stability of its flame, without compromising the heating efficiency of said flame and without subjecting the burner to undue overheating.
Another purpose of the present invention is to provide a burner as mentioned above in which the parts involved can be built without the use of noble materials of high resistance to high temperatures. These and other purposes are achieved with a gas cooking burner having a tubular body provided with a plurality of radial gas outlet channels, said tubular body carrying a deflecting barrier disposed radially spaced from the gas outlet of each radial channel and presenting: a minimum circumferential extension equal to that of the outlet of the respective radial channel and which is coupled to the tubular body, next to the lower external exit edge of the respective radial channel, by a lower skirt with at least said minimum circumferential extension, being the height of the deflection barrier and its radial distances of exit from the respective radial channel sized so as to originate, adjacent to a lower portion of a flame produced from the outlet of a respective radial channel, a turbulence in the gas flow sufficient to guarantee in this region an amount of air and gas mixture that maintains said lower portion of the flame.
BRIEF DESCRIPTION OF THE DRAWINGS
Next, the invention will be described based on the accompanying drawings, in which:
Figure 1 schematically illustrates a plan view of the burner and baffle barrier constructed in accordance with the present invention; Figure 2 represents, schematically, a profile view of the burner and baffle assembly illustrated in Figure 1; figure 3 represents, schematically, a view in longitudinal section of the burner and deflection barrier assembly illustrated in figure 1; and Figure 4 represents, schematically, an enlarged view of the detail indicated in Figure 3.
DESCRIPTION OF THE PREFERRED MODALITY
The present invention will be described with respect to a gas cooker burner 1 of the type comprising, mounted on a cooking plate not illustrated, a plurality, generally four or six, of burners connected to an appropriate gas supply pipe, in fluid communication with a gas source, each burner 1 comprising a tubular body 2, generally of "T" profile provided with a plurality of radial channels 3, of gas outlet, said tubular body having, for example, a base 4 which it seats, superiorly, a flame distributor 5. According to the illustrated, the base 4 has a lower end 6, for connection to an unfiltered gas supply pipe and an elongated embouchure 7 having an upper face 8 that defines a common bottom wall for the radial channels 3 and which seats the flame distributor 5. According to what is illustrated in figure 1, the elongated embouchure 7 has a circumferential outlet 9, of profile coni co and whose lower peripheral edge sits on the kitchen plate. In the illustrated construction, the circumferential outlet 9 defines a termination of the burner 12, where in said circumferential outlet 8 a circular opening 9a is defined, for passage of an ignition electrode (not shown), arranged adjacent to the respective burner 1, in the plate of the kitchen, so as to cause a flame in it when, when energized, it ignites said burner 1, which is fed with a mixture of air and gas. According to the present invention, the tubular body 2 of each burner 1 has, for example, incorporated in a single piece, a deflection barrier 10 arranged radially spaced from the gas outlet of each radial channel 3, which has: a circumferential extension at least equal to that of the outlet of the respective radial channel 3 and which is coupled to the tubular body 2, together with the lower external exit edge of the respective radial anal 3, by a lower skirt 11 with at least said minimum extension, the height of which is the deflection barrier 10 and its radial distance from the outlet of the respective radial channel 3 dimensioned so as to originate, adjacent to a lower portion of a flame produced from the outlet of a respective radial channel 3, a turbulence in the gas flow sufficient to guarantee, in this region, an amount of air and gas mixture that keeps said lower portion of the flame stable. According to the illustrated, the baffle barrier 10 is a single piece and has an "L" profile at least at the outlet of each radial channel 3 being provided superiorly from an outer peripheral edge of the upper face of the tubular body 2 of the burner 1, for example, continues along the peripheral contour thereof and interrupted only in the region of provision of the circular opening 9 of the electrode passage (Figure 1). Although not illustrated, the present invention provides that the baffle barrier 10 has at least its continuous lower skirt 11 around at least a substantial part of the burner 1, said baffle 10 being incorporated into at least one of the base portions 4. and of the flame distributor 5. According to the present invention and with that illustrated in the appended figures, the lower skirt 11 of the baffle barrier 10 has an upper face 12 tangent to the lower outer edge cross section of a respective radial channel 3, being defined by an extension of the upper face of the elongated embouchure 8 of the tubular body 1 external to the portion of said upper face that seats the flame distributor 5.
