Description
ASSEMBLY WITH A BAG AND AN ACCESSORY, AND PROCESS FOR ITS MANUFACTURE
DESCRIPTION OF THE INVENTION
The present invention relates to an assembly comprising a bag, a product that is placed as a filler in the bag and an accessory which is applied to the bag by the ultrasonic sealing method. In the art it is already known to seal accessories on the bags. One way to do this is by heating or by ultrasonic sealing. The ultrasonic sealing technique involves the use of high frequency mechanical vibrations transmitted through the thermoplastic parts to generate frictional heat buildup at the interface. It is known to manufacture ultrasonically sealed accessories, but the sealing is carried out in an empty bag: the bag is formed, the accessory is sealed on the bag, the product is applied as a filler, for example aseptic filling and the bag is finally seal to obtain the assembly to be stored. The problem with such a solution is that manufacturing the assembly takes too much time and the production line is too complicated, because it comprises more than one stage in the process. In addition, there is a risk that the sealing of the accessory is not safe enough.
The object of the present invention is to make a assembly comprising a bag and an accessory, where the production time is shorter than in the prior art, the production line is simpler and the accessory is sealed for better storage, so that in this way the risk of detachment is minimized. The present invention relates to an assembly comprising: - a bag, - a product filled in the bag, and - an accessory which is applied to the bag by the ultrasonic sealing method, wherein the bag is produced without any accessory or opening device and is completely sealed after filling, where the accessory is applied by the ultrasonic sealing method after filling and sealing the bag, where the bag is made with a specially treated film material on the inner surface by adding a special lacquer or film layer to prevent sealing in this position, or where the accessory consists of any thermoplastic polymer or a special combined polymer, such as metallocene. The product is applied as a filler in the bag, which is sealed and then the accessory is sealed ultrasonically on the bag. It is important, according to the invention, that the film material of the bag be treated on the inner surface to avoid sealing both layers of the bag: this will be explained more clearly in relation to the drawings. The inner surface has a special lacquer or a layer of film. The material of the bag has low, medium or high barrier properties. Preferably, the material of the bag has high barrier properties. The material is taken from the group consisting of amorphous polymer such as ABS, ABS / polycarbonate alloy, acrylic, acrylic multpolymer, butadiene / styrene, resins based on phenylene oxide, polyamide-imide, polyetherimide, polyethersulfone, polystyrene (general purpose) , polystyrene (modified with rubber), polysulfone, PVC and semicrystalline polymers, such as acetal, cellulosic materials, fluoropolymers, thermoplastic polyester, ionomer, liquid crystal polymer, nylon, polyethylene terephthalate, polybutylene terephthalate, polyethylene and polypropylene. The bag is a plastic film, a laminate or a co-extruded film in the form of a semi-rigid bag or a soft bag. The thermoplastic polymer used for the accessory must be compatible with the material of the bag. The accessory can be of the same material as those mentioned above for the bag. Such an accessory is made of a body and a base, the base comprises concentric grooves to improve the ultrasonic welding. Regarding the type of products that can be applied as a filler in the bag, are taken from the group consisting of liquid or viscous pet foods or foods, clinical nutrition products, milk-based products, any kind of juice, fruit products, mineral water, non-foaming beverages, soups, sauces, other sauces They include dressings and mayonnaise. According to one embodiment of the invention, the accessory comprises a plug-like or pressure-closing closure and the product is extracted through the accessory with a special means, for example a perforating device known in the art. According to one embodiment of the invention, the accessory comprises a screw-type closure and inside the accessory there is a part that makes evident the improper use, which must be previously perforated and sealed together with the material of the bag. The product in the bag is filled under fresh, aseptic, UHT, pasteurized or sterilized conditions in the package. The present invention is further related to a process for manufacturing an assembly as described above, wherein: - the bag is filled with the product and sealed, - then the bag is transported or sent by means of a device ultrasonic sealing, where the device is loaded with an accessory and moves down on the bag pressing the accessory against an anvil, - a quantity of free energy is established and transported by the sealing device to the interior of the base of the accessory , where the sealing of the accessory is carried out on the bag, - the sealing device moves upwards and - releases the bag. The amount of energy in the sealing process depends on the type of accessory and the bag material. The bag preferably is in a multiple layer ofPolyethylene / Polyamide / EVOH / Polyethylene and the accessory is in high density polyethylene. The sealing device is designed in a special way creating energy steering elements to specially guide and focus the energy at certain points during the sealing process. The sealing is carried out on a Branson device, where the energy which is released for the sealing process can be controlled. The invention is now illustrated, by way of example, in the accompanying drawings, in which: Figure 1 is a schematic view prior to the sealing of the accessory, Figure 2 is a schematic view during sealing, and Figure 3 is a schematic view after sealing. The bag (1) is filled with a clinical nutrition product (2): the bag is sealed and ready for the accessory (3) to be placed on it. The accessory has a base (4). The ultrasonic sealing head (5) with its opening (6) is just above the fitting and the bag is placed just above an anvil (7). The ultrasonic head (5) then moves (Figure 2) so that the accessory (3) enters the opening (6) of the ultrasonic head and the head presses the bag (1) against the anvil (7). After high frequency is established and the developed heat allows the base (4) of the accessory to be sealed on the filled bag. Due to the special lacquer or film layer on the inside surface of the bag, only the accessory is sealed, but not the two layers of the bag. The ultrasonic head is finally removed (Figure 3), the accessory (3) remains sealed on the outside of the bag through its base (4) and the bag is ready to be stored.
