Abstract

Se describe una secuencia de ADN purificado y aislado y la proteina codificada secretada especifica de glandula mamaria, la mamaglobina; tambien se describen metodos para detectar el cancer de mama basandose en la sobreexpresion y secrecion de mamaglobina por las celulas de cancer de mama; metodos que detectan y/o cuantifican la presencia de mamaglobina o del ARNm que codifica para mamaglobina; tambien se describen metodos basados en inmunoterapia para tratar a un paciente con cancer de mama con un tumor que expresa mamaglobina; los metodos que implican el uso de antigenos a mamaglobina para inducir una respuesta inmune mediada por celulas y/o humoral en respuesta contra el tumor.
