Abstract

The present invention refers to an absorbent article such as a disposable absorbent pant having adjustable elastics by its lateral parts so that it is achieved a better pant adjustment for the user without any deformation. The adjustable elastics are parallely placed toward the waist elastics comprising the four lateral zones of the pant considering a flat configuration of the same, this is, before its lateral edges are joined in order to form the legs and waist apertures and by the outside of the matrix or absorbent insert thereof.

Description

DISPOSABLE ABSORBENT SHOE WITH SIDE ELASTICITY BACKGROUND OF THE INVENTION A disposable pant is a disposable absorbent article that can be raised and lowered by the legs and used by children around two years of age, in the learning stage so that they can go to the bathroom on their own. These types of items can also be used by older children who have incontinence problems. There are several types of disposable underwear in the market and all of them are looking for absorbency, softness, good retention and good adjustment towards the user. In order to avoid runoff, and adjust the pants to the wearer, elastics have been placed in the waist area and by the parts in which it will be in contact with the legs of the user. Examples of this can be found in U.S. Patent Nos. 5,055,103, 5,092,861 and 5,147,487, all issued by Nomura et al., And assigned to Uni Charm Corp. On the other hand, there are some designs that use elasticized side panels for the purpose to adjust the pants to the user; examples of these designs can be found in the United States Patents Nos. 4,938,757 and 4,940,464, from Van Gompel, and assigned to Kimberly-Clark Corporation. The use of this type of elasticized panels is effective but it makes the product considerably more expensive. On the other hand, disposable underpants having threads or elastic bands placed parallel to the waist elastics along the same in order to adjust the pants to the wearer; in this case, there is a risk that the article will deform and pockets will be formed in the areas where there are no adjustment elastics. By means of the present invention the use of elastic threads or bands in the side parts of a disposable pant is proposed in order to achieve a better fit towards the user, achieving very good results at low cost and eliminating the problem of the deformation of the shorts and the formation of bags that can be uncomfortable for the same. SUMMARY OF THE INVENTION The objective of the present invention is to achieve a suitable adjustment to the user of a disposable absorbent pant through the use of laterally located elastics. A further objective of the invention is to achieve this adjustment without increasing the cost of the product. A further object of the invention is to increase the comfort of the user by using a disposable absorbent pant. Another objective of the invention is to eliminate risks of leakage or leakage by achieving an adequate adjustment of the disposable absorbent pants to the wearer. BRIEF DESCRIPTION OF THE DRAWINGS Figure 1 shows the disposable absorbent pants of the present invention in a configuration suitable for use. Figure 2 shows the disposable absorbent pants in planar form, that is, before their side edges are joined. In Figure 3 the outer layer of the disposable absorbent pants is shown before the insert containing the absorbent matrix is placed thereon. Detailed Description of the Invention A disposable training pant is an item generally worn by children around 24 months of age who are being trained to go to the bathroom on their own. These types of items can also be used by older infants who have problems with toilet training, either during the day, during the night, or both. It is a type of disposable item that is designed so that it can be raised and lowered by the legs, that is, it has the shape of a common underpants with an opening in the waist and an opening for each of the legs. The fundamental structure of a disposable brief is as follows: a soft and permeable inner layer, an impermeable outer layer and an absorbent matrix placed between both; The shorts also have elastics in the waist opening and in the leg openings to adjust it towards the user. In a preferred embodiment, the disposable pant may be constituted, as shown in Figure 1, by an outer layer (25), preferably breathable and fabric-like, and by an absorbent insert (30). The shorts are joined by their side parts by means of the side links (43). The disposable pant of the invention, as seen in Figure 1, also has adjustment elastics (28) placed on the side portions thereof and leg elastics (29) around the leg openings (37). These are placed either between the inner and outer layers in the event that the brief has the fundamental structure described, or between the two breathable and fabric-like films of the outer layer (25) in the event that the shorts have the configuration described as the preferred embodiment of the invention, covering the areas from the waist opening (36) to each of the leg openings (37), which help to adjust the product towards the user, achieving greater comfort and minimizing the risk of leaks. Figure 2 shows the training pants of the invention before being joined by its side edges (38), to form the two side connections (43) on each side thereof. In said figure 2 it can be clearly seen how the absorbent insert (30) is constituted. The absorbent insert (30) is formed by a permeable upper layer (31), an impermeable lower layer (33) and an absorbent matrix placed between both (32). The insert (30) can also have side barriers (34) for a better retention of exudates. For explanatory purposes, the disposable pant of figure 2 has been divided into three parts: the front part (40), the back part (41) and the crotch part (42), so that when joining the lateral edges thereof (38), the front part (40) forms the front part of the pants, the back part (41) forms the back part thereof and the crotch part is below the pants and is the area that will be between the legs of the user when placing the diaper on it. The adjustment elastics (28) are placed in four zones before the shorts are joined by their side edges (38) to form the waist openings (36) and legs (37), as shown in Figure 2. These four zones are: by the front (40) and rear (41), on both sides of the matrix parallel to the waist elastics, and reaching the lateral edges (38) thereof. The first adjustment elastic in each of these four zones, that is, the adjustment elastic closest to the waist elastics, is at least 10 mm apart from the last waist elastic (from the waist elastic closest to the elastics of .. adjustment); the last adjustment elastic, that is, the adjustment elastic closest to the leg openings, is separated from them by a minimum distance of 2 mm in each of the four lateral zones of the pants. The total number of adjustment elastics in each of these four zones can vary between three and ten. These lateral adjustment elastics (28) cover a width "a", in each of these four zones, less than or equal to 1/3 of the total width "A" of the pants, provided that they do not fall on the die or the insert absorbent (30). Once the side edges (38) are joined during the manufacturing process by the joint (43) and the configuration is given as shown in figure 1, the four elasticized areas become two elasticized zones at each one of the sides of the shorts that adjust the same towards the user without deforming it. It is important to note that the elasticized side zones do not fall on the matrix or absorbent insert (30), since due to the rigidity thereof, the required adjustment would not be achieved. During the manufacturing process of this type of articles, the materials generally run in a transversal manner joining all their components so that in the final part of the same the article is bent and joined by the lateral joints (43), thus achieving the desired trouser configuration. For the application of the adjustment elastics (28) of the present invention, it is required to implement an intermittent system of application of adhesive that only applies adhesive in lateral zones covering the required width "a" and stops applying in the parts central, since the adjustment elastics will run continuously and will only be joined in the four lateral zones of the pants covering a width "a", in each of these, less than or equal to 1/3 of the total width "A" of the pants After the application of adhesive, a blade will cut the elastics by the part by which they are not attached to the shorts, so that after joining the shorts by its side edges (38) and eliminate tensions, the shorts are elasticized by the two lateral areas thereof and from the waist opening to each of the leg openings. The outer layer (25) can be constituted, as shown in Figure 3, by two films of nonwoven fabric laminated together, so that the waist elastics (27) and the leg elastics (29) are placed between both films to avoid direct contact with the user's skin. In this way, the outer layer (25) is a breathable laminate with a fabric appearance. While the invention has been described in terms of its preferred embodiments, the scope thereof includes any type of change or modification thereto that may be apparent to a person skilled in the art.
