Description
ELECTROMECHANICAL SWITCH
The present invention relates to an electromechanical switch comprising a body provided with fastening elements to a support and housing an electromagnet and a contact carrier movable depending on the request of the coil; the switch comprises current terminals connected to fixed contacts, separable from the movable contacts found in the contact carrier, and control terminals connected to the coil. It is increasingly necessary for users to have different types of current terminals, for example, screw terminals, terminals with elastic box, terminals with displacement of insulation, ...; consequently, the switch must allow different terminals to be associated to the body. It is therefore important to prepare the switch so that it responds to this need in the simplest and least expensive manner while still facilitating the connection of the external cables to the terminals. The invention proposes to structure a switch so that different current connection terminals can be provided easily and at low cost. Another object of the invention is to structure the switch so that its control and command wiring is facilitated. According to the invention, the contact carrier is housed inside an invariable box, that is to say, it does not depend on the type of current terminals; the current terminals are arranged in housings of a current terminal box forming a part of the switch body, the dimensions of the housings depending on the type of terminals used, while the current terminal box comprises inter-boundary separations depending on the type of the current terminals and which are coupled in stop to the corresponding shapes of the box, such as guide and stop grooves, which do not depend on the type of current terminals. The switch can then be constituted by the assembly of an invariable arc box with terminal boxes of variable currents according to the type of the current terminals. The switch body can advantageously carry, on the rear part, a fixing base in which the coil and the fixed armature of the electromagnet are housed and, in the front part, the current terminal box. The latter is assembled to the base while the terminal box, invariable, is a specific arc box placed inside the body and more precisely, is embedded in the current terminal box. The contact carrier can consist of control contacts, located in the front part of the current contacts, then a control terminal box is arranged in the current terminal box to cooperate with the control contacts. The description presented below corresponds to a preferred and non-limiting embodiment of the invention according to the attached drawings.
Figure 1 is a schematic profile of the switch according to the invention. Figure 2 is a similar profile of the breaker presented in exploded view. Figure 3 is a schematic profile of the larger-scale arc box and the current terminal box. Figure 4 is a profile of the switch, in section.
Figure 5 is a right perspective of the internal elements of the switch. Figure 6 is a left perspective of the bow box. Figure 7 is an exploded perspective of the arc box, the contact carrier, the current terminal box and the control-command terminal box, the fixed and mobile contacts being absent. Figure 8 is a right perspective of the base and of the current and control-command terminal boxes.
Figures 9 and 10 show two embodiments of the current terminal box opposite.
The multipolar electromechanical switch represented consists of a body, that is to say an outer envelope, having a front part > 10a and a rear part 10b. The front part 10a houses current terminals A, control terminals B and control terminals C. The rear part 10b has usual elements 11 for fixing to a support and houses an electromagnet 20. The body 10 includes double current lines 12 cut; these lines 12 have fixed conductive parts 13 carrying fixed current contacts 14 as well as movable current contacts 15 located in the contact bridges 16. The mobile contact bridges 16 are housed in a contact carrier 17 movable depending on the request of the coil 21 of the electromagnet 20. In the front part 10a of the body 10, the current terminals A are located in a PA main wiring plane in order to be able to insert the cables leading to a power source and a load to connect to the network the current lines 13; on the other hand, in the front part 10a there are control terminals B defining a control wiring plane PB located in the front of the plane PA to insert the cables connected to a control circuit; these terminals are connected in the inner part of the switch to the coil 21 of the electromagnet 20-. In the front part 10a there are finally the control terminals C defining a wiring plane PC located in the front part of the plane PA and, for example, confused with the plane PB, these terminals being connected by cables or a bus a a control circuit, signaling or similar. In more detail, the body or box 10 of the switch comprises a base 30, made of insulating material, with a generally parallelepiped shape; this base forms the essential part of the aforementioned back part 10b and is therefore provided with fixing elements 11; it houses the coil 21 of the electromagnet 20 and the fixed armature 22 in E with the core of the E disposed vertically. In the body 10 there is an arc box 40, of suitable insulating material, which houses a part of the movable armature 23 in E of the electromagnet 20 and the contact carrier 17. The contact carrier 17 (see FIGS. 4, 5 and 7) houses the contact bridges 16 each carrying two mobile contacts 15 of the respective pole. In front of the movable contacts, there are the respective fixed contacts 14 joined by the conductive parts 13 to the current terminals A, the parts 13 being provided, for this purpose, with screw fixing areas 13a. The contact carrier 17 comprises a rear part 17a which houses the current bridges 16 and an anterior part 17b which houses mobile control contacts 18 intended to cooperate with fixed control contacts 19 as we will see later. The contact carrier 17 has sausage shapes 17c provided for actuating specific contacts of an element hooked on the front of the switch. The coil 21 has an insulating housing 24 which carries the winding 25 and is provided with two coil terminals 26 intended to be connected to the control terminals B. This connection is effected by means of their respective conductive strips 27, with a substantially adjustable orientation. perpendicular to the front face of the switch; the strips are housed in transverse slots 28, made on the outside of the arc box 40. The arc box 40 is stepped in shape with a phase defining the wiring plane PA, reserved for the connection of the current-terminal contacts of current and covered by a current terminal box 50, and a phase defining eJL wiring plan PB, PC, reserved for the connection of control contacts / control-command terminals and cover by a terminal box of control / command 60. The arc box 40 is constituted by the assembly of two half boxes 40a, 40b according to a horizontal plane which may be the median plane Q of the switch or a plane parallel to Q. Each half box 40a, 40b, it comprises internal spacers 41 designed to ensure correct insulation between the current contacts of the different poles, but does not have external isolation spacers between the current terminals; each half box comprises guides and grooves 42 that allow to place and position isolation separators between the terminals 51, provided in the current box 50. In the front part of the box 40 there are provided shape elements 44 that allow to hook a front element to the switch. As seen in figure 3 and, in an accessory manner, in figures 6 and 7, each spacer 51 has a rear part 51a which penetrates a corresponding slot 42a, located behind the adjacent fixing areas 13; the separator 51 thus has a rearward part 51b, which penetrates a corresponding slot 42b located at the height of the active part (screw-stirrup, elastic box, ...) of the current terminal A. The part of the separator located towards the median plane Q of the switch comprises two slides 51c which cooperate with the horizontal slots 42c (see also figures 9 and 10). It is noted that the slots 42a, 42b, 42c determine chicanas, together with the elements associated with the separators 51, which increase the insulation distance between current conducting parts. The current terminal box has a wall 52 of plane Q 'parallel to the median plane Q of the switch and serving as the base plane for the terminal. It should be noted that the current terminal box 50 can be adapted to different types of cones without having to modify the arc box. In figures 9 and 10, the addition to the arc box of a terminal box 50-1 with elastic terminals Al and a terminal box 50-2 with screw terminals A2 is indicated. As seen in figures 3, 9 and 10, the space 53 reserved for the active or displaceable part of the terminal A between the wall 52 and the adjacent outer wall 54 of the plane Q "of the terminal box has a variable volume in height (direction Y) and depth (X direction) while the arc terminal box remains identical The terminal box has front openings 55 that allow the passage of a tool for maneuvering the terminals and the upper or lower openings 56 located in the PA cabling plane and used to introduce power cables, the openings 55 and 56 lead to the space 53. A decompression space 57 is constituted between the wall 52 of the terminal box and a parallel wall 43, equipped of vents, of the arc box The terminal box 50 has in the front part a window 58 crossed by the front part of the arc box 40. A control / control terminal box 60 assembled in the front part of the body of the inter The breaker has front openings 61 that allow the terminals and the upper or lower openings 62 located in the wiring diagram PB, PC, which serve to introduce control and control cables, to be accessed with a maneuvering tool. The terminal box 60 has dimensions that allow it to fit in the window 58 of the current terminal box 50; it has a front passage opening 63 for the front part of the arc box 40. It should be noted that the body of the switch is constituted by the assembly of the current terminal box and the base, so that both elements form the external mass of the switch and completely envelop the arc box. The current terminal box 50 is fixed in all common means to the base 30 and the terminal / control terminal box 60 is fixed by all common means to the terminal box 50 and / or to the arc box 40.
