Abstract

This invention refers to the design of a paper recycling process, to be used in the formulation of concrete blocks and bricks, complying with all quality standards, and having other special characteristics such as the material elasticity, this means, that these blocks do not crumble when applying to them their major load to compression as the ones commonly known, they only get deformed and fatigued providing security in case of earthquake.

Description

'PROCESS FOR THE MANUFACTURE OF BLOCK AND BRICK WITH THE USE OF DISPOSAL PAPER "BACKGROUND OF THE INVENTION 5 The large amount of garbage generated by our modern lifestyle, based on waste, is one of the most difficult problems that we are currently facing; Since 50% of the volume of waste is paper, of which only a small part of it is recycled to form paper or cardboard again in some cases. 0 In order to take advantage of a greater percentage of the waste paper that is produced, an alternative source of paper recycling is created to be reused as a construction material with all the established characteristics and rules. - i DESCRIPTION OF THE INVENTION The characteristics of this innovative material for construction are clearly shown in the following description and in the 4 attached drawings: Fig. 1 (A) Binder paper formulated. Fig. 2 Diagram of Process Blocks. Fig. 3 Process Equipment Diagram. Fig. 4 (A) Block or Concrete Brick with the use of waste paper. The main points that can be considered for the process of obtaining bricks or blocks of concrete from waste paper are the following: 1. The incorporation of shredded paper or sheets, to a chamber or tank where they are going to moisten and gain a density greater than that of water, this is important because if the paper was not moistened it would not reach the proper formulation and would imply a Less adhesion in the product. 2. Subsequent to humidification. the paper is taken to a shredder; which allows to have a binding paper in less time and with greater ease. Fig. 1 (A) 3. The next step is to dry the paper by means of a centrifugal press or dryer, with the priority of leaving the paper with the necessary humidity that is 1.3-1 in relation to the paper, so that it can be added to the binder mixture. cement, pumice stone and gray sand, and no more water is added during this mixing. 4. The water coming from the dryer is reused, using a sand filter. 5. The casting in the mold must have a vibrating mechanism and a compressor mechanism to avoid leaving empty spaces or air in the binders, the recommended minimum compression should be equivalent to a weight of 100 kgs. 6. The blocks or bricks of concrete with the use of waste paper, are left to dry in the open, obtaining their greatest resistance at 28 days.
Following is an explanation of the process based on Fig. No. 2.
To carry out this process, the following are needed as raw materials: 1. Waste paper. 2. Portland cement. 3. Pumice. 4. Gray sand.
Current number 1 is the paper stream that will enter the grinder and paper humidifier tank together with stream 2, which is the water stream from the drinking water supply, and stream 8, which is the water recirculation stream coming from the centrifugal dryer.
The main purpose of the crushing and humidifying tank is to moisten the paper until it has a higher specific weight than water and crush or grind the paper to form a binder fiber.
The effluent of the paper mill and humidifier tank enters the centrifugal dryer, which has the function of partially drying the paper, leaving a percentage of water in the paper. Two streams come out of the centrifugal dryer, one the current number 8 which is the recirculating water to the humidifier crusher tank. the other that is the influente to the mixer of paper, cement, pumice stone and gray sand, that we denominate like the current number 7.
Current number 3, which is the cement influent, stream 4, which is the current of pumice and current number 5 that is gray sand, pass to the mixer of cement, pumice, gray sand, paper and water where It forms the last mixture before being emptied into the molds to obtain the final product, either brick or block.
The list of equipment used in the process is as follows, which is related to Fig. No. 3. CR100 Wet Paper Cutter SC101 Centrifugal Dryer FA102 Sand Filter MR103 Rotary Mixer W104 Vibratory Casting The block or brick of concrete with the use of waste paper contains a mixture of binders that are: cement in relation 1-1.2, pumice in relation of 1.5-1.3, gray sand in 0.8-1, water in 2-2.1, all these relationships with respect to the processed waste paper. This product obtained from the process is innovative in terms of materials for construction (blocks and bricks of concrete), is light and with great resistance, and can be an important material for the construction of houses in places where the soil does not It supports a lot of weight or load, it is also non-flammable, it is thermal and acoustic.
The blocks and bricks of concrete with the use of waste paper, see Fig.4 (A), do not break to compression only fatigue, what is meant by this ?, that by supporting above its maximum resistance , these blocks do not fall apart, they are only deformed and an advantage they present over common blocks or bricks is this, for example, when a construction is added more load than it can support, if it is built with blocks or common bricks , the construction collapses, but with the blocks or bricks of paper, it is assumed that they would only be fatigued or deformed, preventing the collapse of the construction and providing greater security in case it occurs.
Below is a table of the results that were obtained when performing the tests of resistance to compression and maximum absorption in 24 hours in cold water, which the Ministry of Communications and Transportation establishes.
Compressive strength (kg / cm2) 52.55% Absorption 41.48
