Abstract
The present invention refers to an agave harvesting and hewing machine, basically constituted of three elements which may be coupled to a conventional tractor or may form part of an autonomous vehicle. These elements are a fork that cuts the plant from its root, an inclined transporter with mechanically articulated drivers that transport the plant to the third element which is a rotatory hewing transporter with blades. The agave harvesting and hewing machine facilitates and speeds up the agave harvesting and hewing process done with the traditional manual technique using the hoe. The invention is also related with the agave harvesting and hewing method performed by the machine which allows doing the operation in a continuous way throughout the agave row at the field.
