Abstract

La invencion se refiere al descubrimiento de que el índice de reaccion del desazuframiento de los combustibles fosiles es incrementado por medio de la adicion de una oxidoreductasa al biocatalizador. La invencion está dirigida a un método para mejorar el índice de desazuframiento de un combustible fosil que contenga compuestos de azufre orgánico, que comprende las siguientes etapas: a) contactar el combustible fosil con una fase acuosa que contenga un biocatalizador capaz de desdoblar enlaces de carbono y azufre y una cantidad de oxidoreductasa, formando a partir de lo mismo un combustible fosil y una mezcla de fase acuosa; b) mantener la mezcla de la etapa (a) bajo condiciones suficientes para el desdoblamiento de los enlaces de carbono y azufre de las moléculas de azufre orgánico por medio del biocatalizador, resultando de los mismo un combustible fosil que tenga un contenido reducido de azufre orgánico; y c) separar el combustible fosil que tiene un contenido reducido de azufre orgánico de la fase acuosa resultante. La invencion también se refiere a un microorganismo recombinante que contiene uno o más moléculas de ADN recombinante que codifiquen un biocatalizador capaz de desazufrar un combustible fosil que contenga moléculas de azufre orgánico, y que codifique una oxireductasa. La invencion de igual modo se refiere a una composicion que comprende (a) un biocatalizador capaz de desazufrar un combustible fosil que contenga moléculas de azufre orgánico y (b) una oxidoreductasa.
