Abstract

En la presente invencion se describe un dispositivo de seleccion de medios que esta funcionalmente paralelo con una red telefonica, local, alternativa y una red telefonica, local, existente. En la deteccion de una pérdida de la potencia local, el dispositivo conmuta a la red urbana en base a la suposicion que la red urbana es operable, a pesar de la pérdida de potencia local. Mientras que la potencia se suministra al dispositivo, las llamadas de origen se transmiten desde el teléfono al dispositivo y hacia la red alternativa. Las llamadas entrantes desde la red alternativa se transmiten al dispositivo y hacia el teléfono. Alternativamente, las llamadas entrantes y salientes también se pueden acoplar de manera seleccionable en la red urbana sin la interrupcion del servicio telefonico en la red alternativa. Las diferencias en el tono de marcado indican que se esta usando corrientemente la red.
