Abstract

Un método y aparato para ajustar el proceso de carga de una batería, de modo que la batería se cargue tan rápidamente como sea posible evitando al mismo tiempo el sobre-calentamiento o daños a la batería. El método establece aplicar un impulso de carga (C1) que proporciona una corriente promedio de carga, aplicar un primer impulso despolizador (D1), esperar durante un primer periodo de descanso (DW1), medir el voltaje (V1) en un punto predeterminado dentro del primer periodo de descanso, aplicar un segundo impulso despolarizador (D2), esperar durante un segundo periodo de descanso (DW2), medir el voltaje (V2) en el punto predeterminado dentro del segundo periodo de descanso, determinar una diferencia entre el voltaje (V1) y el voltaje (V2) y disminuir la corriente promedio de carga si la diferencia es mayor a una cantidad predeterminada. La presente invencion también establece determinar si la batería tiene un nivel de agua bajo.
