Abstract
La presente invencion se refiere a una antena de radio comunicaciones para estaciones base. En una primera modalidad, el arreglo consiste en una pluralidad de antenas cada una capaz de formar un haz estrecho separado en azimuth, en donde las antenas se colocan de manera que los haces formados por las antenas se superpongan y el centro de cada haz caiga en medio entre el centro y el primero nulo del haz adyacente para proporcionar una cobertura uniforme en azimuth. La presente invencion se puede desplegar en terminales moviles inalámbricas. Se propone el uso del concentrador del haz en enlace de bajada para sistemas como Digital AMPS (D-AMPS). Un concentrador del haz en enlace de bajada consiste en un numero de haces estrechos formados por multiples antenas de ancho de haz estrecho o un arreglo de elementos junto con un concentrador del haz fijo. Las técnicas de procesamiento de la señal pueden utilizarse, entonces, para seleccionar un haz adecuado dirigido hacia el abonado.
